Job description

POSITION PURPOSE:

Responsible for having a strong understanding of the equipment used, pick locations, pallet building, productivity measures, and safety procedures.

6 PM SHIFT

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:

1. Inspects assigned jack for safety issues. Stages pallets in the appropriate bay.
2. Enters the proper information into the productivity measure.
3. Identifies the correct pick location and pick sequence in order.
4. Picks the correct item and quantity, checking UPCs or item descriptions. Places pick labels.
5. Correctly identifies Master Case locations. Reports and reports any mis-located products.
6. Shrink wraps and labels with correct truck, stop, and other required information.
7. Listens for first and last call and obtains all out-of-stocks in a timely manner.
8. Keeps area clean and free of debris. Obtains aisle-cleaning assignment as needed.
9. Immediately informs a foreman, supervisor, or manager of any potential safety threats.
10. Operates pallet jack/push cart safely and efficiently. Builds stable and cubed pallets.
11. Reports any violations of company policy to supervisor or lead.
12. Parks and recharges pallet jack in its designated spot at the end of shift.
13. Performs duties in accordance with Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) policies and procedures.
14. Performs other duties as assigned.
15. Uses good judgment, especially when supervision is not immediately available.

PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS:

1. Selector functions meet company standards and safety regulations, including quality standards.
2. Effective communication and coordination with company personnel and management. Assistance and support provided as needed.
3. Deadlines are consistently met.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma/GED preferred.
• Understanding of safety guidelines and basic RF system functions is ideal.

SKILLS/ABILITIES:

• Ability to select at the established minimum rate for the department.
• Attention to detail; ability to lift 50+ pounds continuously.
• Ability to understand and follow all selecting procedures and verbal instructions in respective areas: grocery, repack, cooler/freezer.
• Understanding of procedures in other warehouse areas for a comprehensive understanding of all processes.
