Job summary

Americold is seeking a sanitation associate to clean and sanitize food handling, packaging, storage, and processing facilities and equipment. You will ensure cleanliness of warehouses, docks, break rooms, bathrooms, yard areas, and more to meet quality and safety standards.

You will work under supervision, following standard procedures and safety rules, using cleaning chemicals and equipment. The role requires the ability to follow instructions, cooperate with coworkers, and adapt to various

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED preferred.
Ability to follow safety rules and manuals.
Strong communication skills.
Knowledge of cleaning procedures and janitorial techniques.

Responsibilities

Use chemical agents, high-pressure hoses, and other sanitizing equipment to clean facility areas and equipment.
Prepare cleaning chemicals, sanitizers, and chemical concentrations.
Handle and store cleaning chemicals and equipment to standards.
Manage chemical safety incidents and accidents.
Keep grounds free of litter, debris, and hazards.
Observe safety requirements and report hazards.
Comply with OSHA, FDA, USDA, and SQF standards.
Possibly ensure pest control systems operate correctly and report issues.
May wash and sweep insides of trailers and railcars.
Perform other duties as assigned.
