Job summary

Charlie’s Produce, a leading West Coast wholesale produce company, is hiring sanitation team members for full-time warehouse work. Shifts start early (6am) with 8–10 hour days; Sundays and holidays required.

You will ensure cleanliness across warehouse, freezer areas, and lunchrooms while handling equipment like bailers, forklifts, and floor scrubbers. The role demands physical effort, ability to lift 25–50 lbs, and comfort with cold temperatures and loud environments.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work independently and communicate with the sanitation and operations teams.
• Willing to work near moving mechanical parts and in extreme cold (warehouse temp around 36 degrees).
• Willing to work at heights on a scissor lift.
• Willing to be exposed to wet or humid conditions (produce-related).
• Ability to lift and move up to 25–50 lbs regularly.
• Ability to read and write simple instructions and data.
• Must follow instructions and be reliable.
• Observe and follow proper safety and food safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Sweep floors and clean debris in the warehouse, freezer and lunchrooms.
• Sanitize restrooms and lunchrooms daily, including equipment.
• Perform deep cleaning projects as needed.
• Clean standing water using floor scrubber machine.
• Break down boxes and recycle; operate bailer machine.
• Regular trash removal from offices and warehouse using forklift or riding pallet jack.
• Check for pest activity regularly.
• Main equipment used: bailer, trash compactor, electric riding pallet jack, forklift, floor scrubber, and scissor lift.

Job Description

Schedule:6AM-7AM start time- Full-time- Shifts are typically 8-10 hours long. Must be able to work Sundays and holidays.

The Role:

Sanitation team members are responsible for general warehouse and building housekeeping and maintenance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include, but Are Not Limited To:

• Sweeping floors, cleaning up debris in the warehouse, freezer and lunchrooms
• Sanitize restrooms and lunchrooms daily, including equipment
• Deep cleaning projects as needed
• Cleaning up standing water- utilize floor scrubber machine
• Breaking down boxes and recycle, operatebailer machine
• Regular trash removal from offices and warehouse area - utilizingforklift or riding pallet jack to empty garbage
• Check for pest activity regularly
• Main equipment used: bailer, trash compactor, electric riding pallet jack, forklift, floor scrubber and scissor lift.

Qualifications

Here are a few things to be ready for (and don’t forget we will train and certify you):

• Must be able to work independently and communicate with the rest of the sanitation and operations management teams
• Willing to work near moving mechanical parts and in extreme cold (non-weather, warehouse temped at 36 degrees)
• Willing to work in high spaces on scissor lift
• Willing to be exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather, produce-related)
• Ability to work in environment with a usually loud noise level
• Capable of regularly lifting and/or moving up to sacks/cases anywhere between 25-50lbs
• Ability to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence, memos and write simple correspondence
• Ability to read/write/record data and perform simple mathematical calculations
• Must follow instructions, respond to management direction
• Reliable; consistently at work and on time
• Observes and follows proper safety and food safetyprocedures; willingness to report potentially unsafe conditions
