Job summary

Universal Logistics Holdings in Racine, WI, is seeking a Safety Specialist to support warehouse operations, advance safety programs, and ensure OSHA compliance across the facility. You will conduct safety observations, coordinate employee training, document incidents, and work with leadership to address hazards and PPE requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred in Safety or related field.
• Experience in warehouse/logistics safety preferred.
• Familiarity with OSHA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Support and promote facility safety programs, policies, and procedures.
• Conduct routine safety observations, inspections, and facility walkthroughs.
• Identify potential workplace hazards and partner with operations leadership on corrective actions.
• Coordinate and document employee safety training, orientations, and refresher training.
• Assist with incident, injury, near-miss, and workplace accident investigations.
• Maintain safety records, training documentation, and other required reporting.
• Monitor employee compliance with established safety procedures and PPE requirements.
• Support safe material‑handling practices throughout warehouse operations.
• Participate in safety meetings and communicate safety expectations to employees.
• Track safety concerns and follow up on corrective actions through completion.
• Partner with facility leadership to reinforce accountability and improve overall safety performance.
• Support emergency preparedness activities and facility safety initiatives.
• Perform additional safety and operational duties as assigned.
