Job summary

Vesta in Pembroke Park, FL is seeking a Repair Technician to handle upholstery repair-oriented responsibilities and wood/furniture restoration tasks. The role emphasizes craftsmanship in finishing, color matching, and coordinating with the Design Team for refurbishments.

Responsibilities include repairing furniture, inspecting items, maintaining records, and supporting warehouse operations while ensuring quality workmanship and timely completion of projects.

Qualifications

• Experience in furniture repair, woodworking, cabinetry, finish carpentry, painting, or furniture refinishing.
• Experience using hand and power tools, attention to detail, and ability to perform cosmetic and minor structural furniture repairs.

Responsibilities

• Repair scratches, chips, dents, scuffs, and finish imperfections on wood, laminate, veneer, metal, and painted furniture.
• Perform sanding, filling, staining, painting, and color matching to restore furniture to showroom standards.
• Replace or repair minor hardware (legs, handles, brackets, fasteners, etc.).
• Perform minor structural repairs (tightening joints, reinforcing loose components, replacing damaged hardware).
• Inspect returned furniture and determine repairability before returning items to inventory.
• Maintain accurate documentation of repairs and ensure items are scanned into the appropriate repair locations.
• Prioritize repairs based on operational needs and project deadlines.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe repair workspace.
• Assist with furniture assembly/disassembly when required.
• Support warehouse operations as needed while maintaining repair productivity.

Responsibilities

• References to re-upholstery and upholstery repair responsibilities
• Upholstery and fabric stretching experience as a job requirement
• Specialized restoration techniques such as burn-ins, wood graining, and invisible repairs
• Leather restoration/conditioning as a primary responsibility
• Coordinating customized refurbishments with the Design Team
• Assisting with truck yard operations and acting as a safety spotter (not part of the primary role)

• Include experience using hand and power tools, attention to detail, and the ability to perform cosmetic and minor structural furniture repairs

Compensation

Our current Repair Technician rate is $19.25/hour. Based on discussions with Chris and the Repair Shop Supervisor, we do not believe we will be able to attract qualified, skilled candidates at this rate. We recommend adjusting the pay range to $22.00–$24.00/hour to better align with the experience and craftsmanship required for the role.
