Job summary

Staffers Inc. is seeking a Warehouse Receiving Supervisor in Mississippi to oversee inbound shipments, supervise receiving staff, and ensure accurate, timely receipt of goods. You will coordinate with vendors, carriers, and internal teams to maintain efficient warehouse operations.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; higher education preferred.
  • 5+ years in warehouse, 1–2 years supervisory experience.
  • Strong knowledge of receiving, inventory control, and warehouse operations.
  • Experience with WMS and basic computer skills.
  • Ability to operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily receiving operations, including unloading, inspecting, and verifying incoming shipments with multiple LTL/Freight carriers.
  • Ensure deliveries are checked against purchase orders and properly documented.
  • Lead, train, and evaluate staff to maintain productivity and accuracy.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through proper receipts and corrective measures.
  • Enforce safety procedures and OSHA compliance.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies, damages, or shortages in shipments.
  • Coordinate dock schedules and communicate with carriers and suppliers.
  • Monitor and improve receiving processes for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.
  • Collaborate with warehouse, inventory, and procurement teams.
  • Responsible for receiving equipment like forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.

Job description

The Warehouse Receiving Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all inbound shipments, ensuring accurate and timely receipt of goods, and maintaining efficient warehouse operations. This role supervises receiving staff, enforces safety and quality standards, and coordinates with vendors, carriers, and internal departments to ensure smooth workflow.

Key Responsibilities

Job Requirements
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required (Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred)
  • 5 plus years of warehouse experience, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory role
  • Strong knowledge of receiving, inventory control, and warehouse operations
  • Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) and basic computer skills
  • Ability to operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
  • Standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods
  • Comfortable working in varying warehouse conditions (temperature, noise, etc.)
Additional Information
  • Fast-paced warehouse setting
  • Hours are Monday - Friday 8-5 and depending on business needs
