Job summary

Havertys is hiring for a Receiving Material Handler to join our Distribution Team onsite. You will unload furniture from trucks with a small team, stage items for transport, and support efficient, safe operations daily.

The position requires physical work, lifting up to 150 lbs, adherence to safety policies, and the ability to pass background checks and drug screens. Competitive benefits and daily pay options are available.

Qualifications

• Heavy lifting up to 150 lbs throughout shift.
• Team player with ability to work in small teams of 2–4.
• Must pass Criminal Background check, Lifting Assessment, and Drug Test.
• Previous warehouse experience a plus.
• Uniforms provided; wear steel-toed boots; safety gear when applicable.
• Monday–Friday, 8:00am–Completion.

Responsibilities

• Unload merchandise from delivery trucks and containers in teams of 2–4.
• Stage merchandise on carts for transport to staging areas or storage racks.
• Support team to meet productivity standards and maintain safety.
• Maintain clean, safe work environment and report hazards.

Pay: Starting at $16.50 an hour

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - Completion

This position involves physically demanding work, including the manual handling and movement of furniture. Forklifts are not utilized in the completion of these tasks.

• Collaborate in teams of 2 to 4 to unload merchandise from delivery trucks and shipping containers.
• Stage merchandise on carts in preparation for transport to shipping staging areas or storage racks. Examples of merchandise are sofas, sectionals, power lift chairs, mattresses, bedroom furniture, dressers, bookcases, dining tables, chairs, etc.
• Showcase your ability to perform and provide value as a team member.
• Gain understanding of productivity standards and time management skills.
• Learn proper handling of materials and merchandise to minimize damage and injury.
• Contribute to company safety culture by adherence to safety policies.
• Maintain a clean work environment free from tripping hazards.
• Salary starting at $16.50 per hour based on experience
• Get Paid Daily. Team members have the flexibility to Draw Pay between pay cycles.
