Job summary

Genuine Parts Company is seeking a Receiving Associate to unload shipments, verify items, and move goods to correct stockroom locations. You will record all incoming shipments and coordinate with carriers for next-day delivery as needed.

Responsibilities include handling repairs and returns, cross-docking, and assisting with unloading returns from stores. Candidates must be able to operate a RADS gun, obtain forklift certification, and lift up to 60 pounds.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent work experience required.
• 6 months prior work experience.
• Knowledge of the entire stockroom.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced setting and remain calm under pressure.
• Ability to communicate with customers, supervisors, and Will Call employees.
• Self-motivation and initiative to accomplish company goals.
• Willingness and ability to learn.
• Analytical problem solving skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as required by customer business needs.
• Ability to pass a drug screen test and routine background inquiry.
• Strong customer relationship skills.
• Ability to utilize and operate a RADS gun.
• Must be able to be certified as a forklift operator.
• Visually capable of recognizing and distinguishing letters and numbers and their sequencing.
• Ability to speak clearly and listen attentively.
• Ability to work on feet (stand and walk) for entire assigned work shift.
• Capable of lifting and moving parts and boxes up to 60 pounds.
• Ability to repeatedly bend or stoop to floor level shelves and able to reach upper shelves with use of stool or ladder when necessary.
• Ability to move engine blocks, core barrels, and other heavy equipment with moving aids designed to move such items.

Responsibilities

• Unload shipments, verify accuracy of shipments and transport to proper locations throughout the stockroom.
• Record all incoming shipments on the receiving log.
• Distribute, sort, and record shipments received via carriers; deliver next-day air mail as received.
• Handle Pro Point repairs and returns.
• Ship W.O.G. and cross docks to jobbers.
• Assist in unloading returned merchandise from stores and verify piece count.
• Perform management-assigned duties as required.
