Job summary

States Manufacturing Corporation in Minnesota is seeking a Department Lead to drive productivity, quality and safety on the production floor. You will train employees, prioritize assignments, and lead by example to foster teamwork and continuous improvement.

The role requires strong leadership, technical knowledge of electrical power distribution equipment, and commitment to OSHA standards. This position is on site at our Champlin facility.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience
• Knowledge of Electrical Power Distribution Equipment
• Knowledge of general OSHA standards
• Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
• Detail oriented and problem solver

Responsibilities

• Spend ~80% of day on production activities
• Prioritize job assignments to meet demand and schedule
• Assist in training employees on safety practices and procedures
• Ensure adherence to standardized work and communicate updates
• Monitor quality output and address non-conformances
• Ensure safety standards and report issues
• Track daily defects, scrap and lost time
• Maintain a clean, safe, organized work area
• Enforce PPE use and OSHA compliance
• Identify and support process improvements and cost-saving opportunities
• Lead by example and promote accountability and teamwork
• Other duties as assigned
