Job summary

Compass Group USA is seeking a Warehouse Receiving Associate in Cincinnati, OH to receive shipments, verify against bills of lading and purchase orders, and maintain accurate receiving logs. The role emphasizes safety, organization, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

You will operate pallet jacks and related equipment, assist with loading/unloading, and coordinate with event operations and other departments to ensure smooth material flow.

Qualifications

• Experience in receiving and inspecting shipments.
• Ability to record logs accurately and maintain documentation.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and OSHA policies.
• Strong organization and communication skills for coordinating with multiple departments.

Responsibilities

• Receive incoming shipments and verify against documents.
• Inspect deliveries for damage, shortages, or discrepancies and report issues.
• Record received items and maintain receiving logs.
• Operate pallet jacks and other material-handling equipment.
• Assist with loading/unloading and staging of freight.
• Maintain an organized receiving area, dock, and storage spaces.
• Follow procedures for freight handling and inventory control.
• Coordinate with event operations, security, engineering, and other departments.
• Conduct inventory counts as requested.
• Deliver items to assigned spaces and ensure proper labeling and storage.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Receive incoming shipments, freight, packages, supplies, and equipment from carriers, vendors, exhibitors, and internal departments.

Verify deliveries against bills of lading, purchase orders, delivery documents, or other receiving records.

Inspect shipments for visible damage, shortages, or discrepancies and promptly report issues to the appropriate supervisor.

Accurately record received items and maintain receiving logs and documentation.

Operate pallet jacks, hand trucks, carts, and other material-handling equipment safely.

Assist with loading and unloading trucks and trailers using appropriate equipment and procedures.

Maintain an organized warehouse, receiving area, loading dock, and storage spaces.

Follow established procedures for freight handling, storage, inventory control, and documentation.

Coordinate with event operations, security, engineering, housekeeping, food and beverage, exhibitors, vendors, and other departments as needed.

Assist with inventory counts and locating materials when requested.

Ensure materials are stored securely and in accordance with facility requirements.

Follow all OSHA, workplace safety, fire safety, and convention center policies and procedures.

Maintain a clean and safe work environment and promptly report hazards or unsafe conditions.

Properly label, stage, and organize incoming freight and materials for storage or delivery.

Deliver freight, supplies, equipment, and materials to assigned event spaces, meeting rooms, offices, loading docks, or other areas of the facility.

• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
