Job summary

UNFI in Quincy, FL is seeking a Receiver to verify quantities of product received, scan items, and record into inventory. You will work closely with inventory control to ensure accuracy and proper put-away to staging locations.

This onsite role requires lifting up to 75 pounds, operating RF scanning equipment, and maintaining a safe, clean work area. Weekly pay at $20.25 per hour plus shift differentials; schedule Mon-Fri with overnight start times.

What does it mean to be a part of the Receiving team?

In these essential roles, you will work directly with the inventory department, Supervisors and leads to verify quantities of product received and loaded onto trucks at the distribution centers. These roles have strong understanding of products that we carry, all receiving/loading procedures and back stock. This team ensures that products are in the proper staging locations so we can efficiently receive and load trucks with product accurately while maintaining a clean and safe work area.

The Receiver position works closely with the Inventory Control department to ensure accuracy of all incoming products. In this position, you will be using electronic equipment to scan and record required information to ensure inventory accuracy.

PAY: WEEKLY at $20.25 an hour base pay + Shift Differentials

SCHEDULE: Working Days: Monday - Friday 12:00 AM - End of Shift

Position Purpose

Responsible for having a strong understanding of the entire warehouse and receiving procedures. Also needs to understand the products, receiving procedures, and back stock put away procedures. A receiver is responsible for moving product off trucks, monitoring the quality of product, entering it into inventory, and properly putting product in its respective staging location.

Essential Functions And Basic Duties

• Verifies quantities of product received against the packing slip/purchase order.
• Checks and reports any damage found due to refrigeration, travel or handling by inbound freight company.
• Sorts or breakdowns all incoming products. (Eastern Region only)
• Builds steady and secure pallets to be put into back stock reserves. Wraps pallets whenever necessary.
• Ensures that all labeling of product and pallets are accurate for put‑away in proper pick slot or back stock location
• Keeps area clean and debris out of work area; ensures a safe working environment.
• Inspects assigned jack for safety issues. Operates all equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Perform duties in accordance with Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) policies and procedures, as appropriate for location

Required Knowledge

• Understanding of Safety guidelines
• Strong knowledge of applicable warehouse functions and RF systems.

Experience Required

• Warehouse/Operations preferred but not required.
• Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available.

Skills/Abilities

• Understand and properly follow all receiving procedures, including how to use warehouse and RF systems.
• Understand all paperwork related to receiving including how to read and use Purchase Order (PO) receivers, Bills of lading, and packing lists.
• Have an understanding of procedures in other areas of the warehouse for a more global understanding of all processes.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.

Work Environment

Onsite Role:

This position requires the associate to perform all duties at one of our UNFI locations, such as a distribution center or office.

Warehouse Roles

• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently.
• Exposure to temperatures ranging from -20 degrees below zero to 35 degrees Fahrenheit in Perishable Operation and 37 degrees to 90 degrees Fahrenheit in Grocery Operation.
• Ability to do repetitious arm, wrist, and hand movements required for maintenance and service procedures.
• Must be able to work with hands and arms overhead, and to work in or under the equipment.
• Requires manual dexterity, overall coordination, and good balance to work both at ground level and in high places to perform job duties. Ability to operate work‑related equipment.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
