Job summary

United Natural Foods, Inc. (UNFI) Prescott, WI is seeking team members for the Receiving group. You will verify quantities against packing slips, inspect for damage, and help build pallets for back stock while keeping work areas safe and organized.

You’ll use RF systems to record information and ensure accurate inventory throughout the shift. Typical schedule is Monday–Friday, 4:00 AM to 12:30 PM. Previous warehouse receiving experience is preferred, with opportunities to grow and participate in

• Experience in warehouse receiving and using packing slips or POs.
• Ability to read purchase orders and packing lists.
• Willingness to work OT and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Verifies quantities of product received against the packing slip/purchase order.
• Checks and reports any damage found due to refrigeration, travel or handling by inbound freight company.
• Builds steady and secure pallets to be put into back stock reserves; wraps pallets when necessary.
• Ensures labeling of product and pallets is accurate for put-away in correct pick slot or back stock location.
• Keeps area clean and debris-free; maintains a safe work environment.
• Inspects assigned jack for safety issues; operates equipment safely and efficiently.
• Performs duties in accordance with HACCP and SQF policies and procedures.

Job description

What does it mean to be a part of the Receiving team? In these essential roles, you will work directly with the inventory department, Supervisors and leads to verify quantities of product received at the distribution centers. These roles havestrongunderstanding of products that we carry, all receiving/loading procedures and back stock. This team ensures that products are in the proper staging locations so we can efficiently receive and load trucks with product accurately while maintaining a clean and safe work area. In this position, you will be using electronic equipment to scan and record required information to ensure inventory accuracy.

Essential Functions:

• Verifies quantities of product received against the packing slip/purchase order.

Experience Required:

• Warehouse/Operations preferred but not required.

• Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available.

Skills and Abilities:

• Understand and properly follow all receiving procedures, RF systems.
• Understand all paperwork related to receiving including how to read and use Purchase Order (PO) receivers, Bills of lading, and packing lists.
• Have an understanding ofprocedures in other areas of the warehouse for a more global understanding of all processes.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.

Physical Requirements & Demands:

• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently.
• Exposure to temperatures ranging from -20 degrees below zero to 35 degrees
• Fahrenheit in Perishable Operation and 37 degrees to 90 degrees Fahrenheit in Grocery Operation.
• Ability to do repetitious arm, wrist, and hand movements required for maintenance and service procedures.
• Must be able to work with hands and arms overhead, and to work in or under the equipment.
• Requires manual dexterity, overall coordination, and good balance to work both at ground level and in high places to perform job duties. Ability to operate work-related equipment.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

UNFI anticipates paying the above-referenced pay rate (or within the above-referenced pay range) for this position. Actual Pay, where applicable, will depend on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, education, experience, training, and any requirements under applicable collective bargaining agreements.
