Job summary

UNFI in Gilroy, CA is seeking a Receiver to manage warehouse and receiving procedures. You will move products off trucks, enter items into inventory, and place goods in correct staging areas.

The role pays starting at $22.25/hour with a $1.25 overnight incentive, scheduled 10 PM–6:30 AM, Sunday night through Thursday night, with weekends off. Responsibilities include verifying quantities, reporting damage, building pallets, labeling for put-away, maintaining safety, and adhering to HACCP/SQF

Qualifications

• Must understand safety guidelines.
• Knowledge of Bakco and RF systems.
• Warehouse/Operations experience preferred but not required.
• Understand receiving procedures, PO receivers, bills of lading, and packing lists.

Responsibilities

• Check with supervisors at shift start to discuss daily changes.
• Verify quantities received against packing slips/POs.
• Report any damage from refrigeration, travel, or handling.
• Build pallets and place items into back stock reserves.
• Ensure correct labeling for put-away and pick slots.
• Maintain a clean, safe working area and operate equipment safely.
• Wear PPE as required and follow HACCP/SQF policies.

Job Overview

Responsible for having a strong understanding of the entire warehouse and receiving procedures. Also needs to understand the products, receiving procedures, and back stock put away procedures. A receiver is responsible for moving product off trucks, monitoring the quality of product, entering it into inventory, and properly putting product in its respected staging location.
Starting Hourly Rate: $22.25/HR. + $1.25 for Overnight Incentive
Schedule: 10PM- 6:30AM Sunday night to Thursday night until the work is done. Friday's and Saturday's Off.

Job Responsibilities

• Checks with supervisors or leads at the beginning of the shift to discuss any issues or changes in the daily procedure.
• Verifies quantities of product received against the packing slip/purchase order.
• Checks and reports any damage found due to refrigeration, travel, or handling by inbound freight company.
• Builds steady and secure pallets to be put into back stock reserves.
• Wraps pallets whenever necessary.
• Ensures that all labeling of product and pallets are accurate for put-away in proper pick slot or back stock location.
• Keeps area clean and debris out of work area; ensures a safe working environment.
• Inspects assigned jack for safety issues. Operates all equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Wears personal protective equipment as required.
• Reports to supervisor or lead any violation of company policy.
• Perform duties in accordance with Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) policies and procedures, as appropriate for location.

Performance Measurements

• Receiver functions are completed in accordance with Company standards and procedures including quality standards and safety regulations.
• Effective communication and coordination exist with Company personnel and with management.
• Assistance and support are provided as needed. Deadlines are met.

Qualifications

• Understanding of Safety guidelines.
• Strong knowledge of applicable Bakco functions and RF systems.
• Warehouse/Operations preferred but not required.
• Understand and properly follow all receiving procedures, including how to us Bakco and RF systems.
• Understand all paperwork related to receiving including how to read and use Purchase Order (PO) receivers, Bills of lading, and packing lists.
• Understand procedures in other areas of the warehouse for a more global understanding of all processes.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.
• Good Judgement is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available.

UNFI anticipates paying the above-referenced pay rate (or within the above-referenced pay range) for this position. Actual Pay, where applicable, will depend on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, education, experience, training, and any requirements under applicable collective bargaining agreements.
