The Raymond Corporation is seeking a Warehouse Product Specialist (Racking) in Kansas City, MO. This role focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining warehouse racking and storage solutions, serving as the technical expert for racking systems and guiding both internal teams and customers toward optimal, compliant storage designs.

The ideal candidate is experienced in material handling and warehousing, with strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma; undergraduate degree strongly preferred.
• At least two (2) years of industry experience (material handling, warehousing, intralogistics, etc.).
• Must have a valid driver’s license, clean driving record.
• This is a field based position that will require 75% travel across Raymond Central’s territory.

Responsibilities

• Act as the technical authority on warehouse racking and storage system solutions.
• Collaborate with Account Managers to assess customer facilities, workflows and storage needs.
• Recommend optimal racking layouts and storage strategies.
• Translate customer requirements into engineered solutions and support the sales team.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, local codes and safety regulations.
• Provide input on repairs, replacements, or upgrades based on inspections.
• Coordinate with project management, engineering and sales for proper installations.
• Assist with quotes, estimates and bid preparation.
• Develop technical docs including layouts and load calculations.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly knowledgeable Warehouse Product Specialist to support the design, implementation, optimization, and maintenance of warehouse racking and storage solutions. This individual will serve as the technical authority on racking systems, helping internal teams and customers maximize storage density, operational efficiency, and safety.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

• Serve as the company’s technical expert on all warehouse racking and storage system solutions.
• Partner with Account Managers to evaluate the customer’s requirements, their facilities, workflows, and storage requirements.
• Make recommendations on optimal racking layouts and storage strategies.
• Interpret customer requirements and translate them into practical engineered solutions.
• Provide technical support to sales teams during customer meetings, site visits, and proposal development.
• Ensure all racking systems comply with applicable industry standards, local codes, and safety regulations, including rack load capacities and anchoring requirements.
• Recommend repairs, replacements, or system upgrades based on inspection findings.
• Collaborate with project management, engineering, and sales team to ensure proper execution of racking installations.
• Support quoting, estimating, and bid preparation for projects.
• Develop technical documentation including layouts, load calculations, installation recommendations, and inspection reports.
• Understand and perform compelling demos as required, assist with presentations as needed.
• Stay current on industry trends, emerging technology, and compliance/regulatory changes.
• Work directly with vendors and suppliers.
• Work with all departments and associates as needed to ensure high quality customer service.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must have a high school diploma; undergraduate degree strongly preferred
• At least two (2) years of industry experience (material handling, warehousing, intralogistics, etc.)

The ideal candidate will possess:

• Proficiency with sales, basic pricing, and bill of materials preparation for quoting purposes
• Strong relationship building skills and working knowledge of warehouse systems, related components, and sales and business acumen
• Resourcefulness, sound judgement in resolving routine problems related to projects
• Project management experience and/or coordination experience with multiple teams and vendors
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
