Job summary

C&S Wholesale Grocers, LLC is seeking a dedicated custodian/janitor for 1st shift at our Windsor Locks, CT facility. You will maintain a clean, safe environment across the warehouse and offices, supporting daily operations and standards of hygiene.

Responsibilities include cleaning warehousing spaces, restrooms, offices, and break areas; sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, buffing, and waxing floors; handling spills and waste; and following safe operating procedures for equipment.

Qualifications

• Attendance required.
• General Equivalency Diploma or High School Diploma required.
• Proactive and safety-conscious.

Responsibilities

• Providing and maintaining a clean and safe work environment by acting as a custodian / janitor
• Cleaning the entire warehouse, including office space, employee break areas, windows and restrooms
• Maintaining good housekeeping by sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, buffing and waxing floors
• Occasionally pulling product from pick slots using an electric pallet jack to clean with a scrubber and returning product
• Tending to spills including damaged product, oil, grease, etc.
• Collecting plastic wrap, shredded paper, and empty boxes to be disposed of properly
• Following all material handling equipment safe operating procedures
• Occasional safe lifting of varying case weight, shape, and height levels
• Having the ability and willingness to follow all material handling equipment safe operating procedures
