Job summary

Floor & Decor Holdings Inc. in Houston is seeking a Merchandise Handler for our Pick & Pack department. You will pick orders from multi-level racks using a cherry picker, counterbalance, and reach truck, stage orders for shipment, and assist with loading/unloading.

The role requires 1–3 years of experience, fluent English, self-motivation, strong customer service, and basic math skills. Starting base pay is $18.00 per hour; be prepared for a fast-paced, team environment that follows safety

Qualifications

• One to three years of recent work experience.
• One to three years of experience operating an order picker/cherry picker, counterbalance, and reach truck.
• Excellent communications skills (Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently).
• Must be a self-starter and possess excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical operations (i.e. addition, subtraction, multiplication and division).
• Must be detail oriented and highly organized.

Responsibilities

• Accurately pick product from multi-level racks and stage, load and unload shipments to and from trailers, containers, and/or designated areas safely using a cherry picker, counterbalance and reach truck.
• Efficiently stack and store the merchandise in the appropriate areas.
• Transport product to and from designated areas as directed.
• Pull and prepare product for shipment, label pallets accurately and stage for shipping as scheduled.
• Handle merchandise for picking and put away, breaks down and consolidates pallets for put away or picking.
• Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods and safety requirements/procedures.
• Comply with OSHA and MSDS Standards.
• On a daily basis, inspect and perform minor maintenance on the forklift or other equipment.
• Maintain clean, orderly warehouse and loading areas.
• Participate in training and learning sessions to increase knowledge of functions and processes within the Warehouse.
• Follow established Safety procedures in all aspects of work assignments applicable to the position.
