Job summary

C&S Wholesale Grocers, LLC in Houston, TX seeks a Pest Control Sanitarian to oversee pest inspections, ensure food safety, and mitigate health risks in distribution facilities.

You will audit processes, observe staff, implement corrective actions, and train teams on pest prevention to maintain compliance.

This role offers second shift work (7:00–9:00 p.m. start) with 5 days on, 2 off, and benefits from day one.

Qualifications

• Specialized Knowledge: Work experience in product safety, hazmat compliance, health inspections and quality assurance.
• Special Skills: Self-direction, high sense of urgency, problem-solving for intricate situations, resourcefulness.
• Physical abilities: Standing, bending, lifting 1-60 lbs, walking and multi-level work.
• Formal experience in product safety, hazmat compliance, health inspections and QA.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate facilities and equipment for health, safety and pest control risks and implement corrective measures.
• Inspect products in storage and transit to uphold food safety and quality standards.
• Evaluate handling procedures to maintain safety, sanitation and pest control.
• Maintain pest inspection records per company policies and regulatory standards.
• Initiate performance discussions with staff to enforce health and safety policies.
• Support all departments with proper sanitation practices.
• Operate forklifts or pallet jacks as required.

Position Overview

Job Description Summary Keep our communities fed. As a Pest Control Sanitarian, you will be responsible for overseeing inspections to ensure distribution facilities remain pest-free and compliant with health and safety standards. You will audit work processes and closely observe team members during their tasks, assessing any associated health and safety risks. If any issues are identified, you will promptly take corrective measures to eliminate pest threats. Additionally, you will develop and implement proactive pest control strategies and provide training on pest prevention techniques to ensure ongoing compliance and protect the facility.

Compensation & Schedule

Competitive Wage + .75 (night shift differential) 2nd shift, FT, 7:00 / 9:00 p.m. until completion, Monday-Friday, 5 days on/ 2 days off (Saturday off)

Responsibilities

• Evaluate coolers, storage spaces, workstations, communal areas, and equipment for potential threats to health, safety, or pest control, and implement corrective measures as needed.
• Conduct inspections on products in storage and in transit within the distribution facilities to uphold food safety and product quality standards.
• Additionally, evaluate product handling and storage procedures to ensure the highest levels of safety, sanitation, and pest control are maintained.
• Maintain records of pest inspections and testing in accordance with company policies and regulatory standards for product safety.
• Initiate performance discussions with team members and supervisors to ensure product safety, healthy working conditions, and maintain effective pest control measures are upheld; take corrective action as needed to enforce health and safety policies and procedures.
• Provide support to all departments with proper sanitation practices, as necessary.
• Operate forklifts and/or pallet jacks, as required.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Candidate Requirements

• Physical abilities: Continually Standing, bending, pulling, lifting, and Walking. lifting product weighing between 1 - 60 lbs. Possibility of working on multiple levels of varying height 2-5
