This labor-intensive position is responsible for hand building pallets of product for bulk, and route trucks. Each type of loading requires strict attention to order accuracy with respect to loading outgoing trucks and unloading incoming trucks. Works from Electronic order system or order sheets to build loads using a forklift and/or electronic pallet jack. Position is responsible for accuracy in loading and complying with shipper/receiver documentation. Follows warehouse instructions in building loads. Employees must maintain a clean and safe work environment. Position may be required to work across a wide variety of weather conditions and hours, with shift durations varying based on workload.

Transport truck loading involves moving full pallets of products from the warehouse onto trailers and removing any returned pallets or plastic flats. Responsible for unloading raw materials and placing them in designated warehouse spaces.

Bulk truck loading involves selecting designated packages and flavors of products from the warehouse and loading them onto pallets. The position is responsible for maintaining pallet stability through proper stacking and shrink-wrapping. Pallets are typically loaded onto trailers for local delivery. The role also involves unloading returned products and pallets or plastic flats.

Route truck loading involves selecting designated packages and flavors or pallets of products from the warehouse and loading them into trucks. Products are customized based on salesperson orders. The position is responsible for unloading returned products and pallets or plastic flats.

This role requires lifting a high volume of cases per day, weighing 20-45 pounds each, repeatedly over long periods. It involves constant standing, walking, bending, twisting, squatting, reaching, and grasping as products are moved.

PRIMARY JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES :

  • Drive power pallet jack or forklift to pick areas and build pallets/loads according to load sheets or voice pick audio equipment.
  • Mark load tickets for out-of-stock items.
  • Wrap pallets when loads are complete.
  • Submit paperwork with orders for checks before loading and have trucks checked.
  • Stage pallets and/or load into trucks when ready.
  • Complete partial pallets and organize mixed pallets.
  • Maintain proper housekeeping standards in the work area.
  • Maintain regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Must be 18 years or older.

HELPFUL EXPERIENCE :

  • Experience in a warehouse environment, including order selection, product staging, operating powered pallet jacks or forklifts.
  • Forklift operation skills, including driving forwards and backwards, lifting/lowering, maneuvering in tight spaces without damaging products.
  • Experience working with racking systems, loading/unloading pallets, stacking products vertically.
  • Teamwork experience, including cooperation and joint problem solving.
