Job summary

The Distribution Center Associate at Tarrant Area Food Bank is responsible for accurately receiving, storing, retrieving and shipping products to meet safety and productivity standards. You will work in a fast-paced distribution center, using pallet jacks and forklifts to move pallets and prepare orders for distribution.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, 2–5 years of DC experience, forklift certification within 30 days, and ability to read, write and understand English.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent; 2–5 years of Distribution Center experience
• Experience in grocery store or other food industry preferred
• Forklift certification required within 30 days of employment
• Must be able to speak, read and write English

Responsibilities

• Pull and prep product for shipping; ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and damage-free
• Label, sort, pack and weigh product for distribution
• Load and unload freight with pallet jack and/or forklift; safely stack in storage
• Operate materials handling equipment safely and efficiently
• Inspect DC equipment daily; report maintenance or repairs
• Participate in physical inventories
• Assist in maintaining DC security; ensure a safe working environment
• Comply with all food handling and storage standards
• Maintain a clean and efficient work area
• Sort pallets, clean trucks/trailers/parking lot
• Ensure forklift batteries are charged and ready for use
• Perform other duties as assigned
