Job summary

Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services in Helena seeks a Warehouse Worker to handle USDA commodities, verify shipments, receive and store items, and prepare orders for distribution. You will hand-pick loads onto pallets and operate with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• General knowledge of warehouse procedures.
• Skill in operating a forklift and pallet jack.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations such as addition, subtraction, and multiplication.
• Ability to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, maintaining them over time.
• Ability to communicate effectively and follow instructions.
• Ability to comply with safety rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Ability to operate a personal computer and general office equipment as necessary to complete essential functions, including using spreadsheets, word processing, database, email and other computer programs, including inventory management system.
• High school diploma or the equivalent.
• Two years of job related warehouse and/or tractor-trailer experience required.
• Forklift certification or CDL Class A preferred.
• Other combinations of directly related education and experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Responsibilities

• Verify shipments of USDA commodity food or other items and prepares commodity orders for distribution.
• Hand picks orders by caseload onto pallets and supervisor assigns the loads.
• The work is performed independently without direct supervision.
