Job summary

Ryerson in Greenville, SC is seeking a Service Center Operator C (SCOC) to handle day-to-day staging, packing and picking of material for shipments using standard equipment. You will contribute to accurate order fulfillment and maintain proper SAP paperwork.

Onboarding includes enrollment in a registered apprenticeship program and hands-on training with safety-first practices, in a fast-paced, quality-driven metals environment that supports your professional growth.

Qualifications

• Successful reading, math, inspection & measurement skills.
• Minimum 1 year of similar job experience preferred.
• Basic math skills.
• Basic computer skills and/or comfort using a computer.
• Physical ability to pass physical requirements exam for vision, hearing, and mobility.
• Successful candidates will be enrolled in a registered apprenticeship program as part of onboarding and new hire training.

Responsibilities

• Picking and staging feedstock for fulfillment orders
• Breaking down bulk bundles for customer-specific orders
• Packaging of material to customer requirements
• Operating a sit-down or side loader forklift to move material as needed
• Proper completion of paperwork and SAP work order confirmation for shipping/receiving on the computer
• Maximum productivity for finished goods creation
• All other duties as assigned or duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice
