Job description

Merged forces, Castle Metals and Banner Industries, a global leader in the metals distribution space, is looking for a Warehouse Operator to support the Warsaw, Indiana location.

Hours: 6:00am - 2:30pm

This position is responsible for performing a variety of responsibilities in the warehouse including pulling/checking customer orders, moving materials, loading/unloading shipments, and general material handling. Operates necessary equipment to store and move products throughout the warehouse.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities (performs other duties as assigned):

• Load and unload trucks efficiently.
• Perform material movement tasks for order filling, receiving, and loading.
• Safely operate power equipment such as crown trucks, Raymond side-loaders, overhead cranes, and forklifts to move materials and meet order requirements.
• Follow customer requirements to select, fill, and package orders.
• Attach bundle tags to shipped materials and stage for shipment.
• Follow instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform job functions.
• Work under immediate supervision.
• Report equipment defects or excessive wear; may perform setup and preventative maintenance.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Required Qualifications:

• Basic measurement and math competency.
• Knowledge of warehouse concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Strong work ethic.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:

• Manual dexterity, standing, walking, stooping, bending, reaching.
• Push/pull, light lifting (up to 25 lbs), heavy lifting (25-50 lbs).
• Exposure to industrial equipment and machinery.
• Operate machinery, power tools, motor vehicles, and heavy equipment.
• Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as per training.
