Job summary

Columbia Grain International, LLC is seeking a Warehouse Operator to support grain receiving, storage, and shipping at our Montana facilities. You will operate conveyors, weigh grain, take samples, print scale tickets, and help maintain storage tanks and bins, ensuring accuracy and safety.

This role requires basic computer skills, the ability to read safety rules, and reliable attendance. Prior industrial experience is preferred but not required; training provided.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required or preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures.
  • Basic computer skills and willingness to learn warehouse systems.

Responsibilities

  • Operate production equipment; manage flow of grain and start/stop conveyors.
  • Accurately weigh grain and record in computer system; print and sign scale tickets.
  • Take representative samples of all grain and monitor storage tanks/bins.
  • Maintain equipment and clean work area; follow safety policies and procedures.
  • Prepare rail cars for loading and assist with loading operations.

We've spent over 40 years cultivating lasting partnerships with a wide network of producers and the local communities surrounding our facilities, which enables us to source the highest quality product and to fulfill our mission of feeding the worldPosition DescriptionThe Warehouse Operator will be responsible for recording data pertaining to receiving, storing, and shipping of grain at grain elevators. The Warehouse Operator will work with the other members of the team to work toward operational goals while maintaining quality and efficiencies.Primary Duties and ResponsibilitiesOperate production equipment; open and close slide gates to start and stop flow of grain.Accurately weigh grain and record in computer system; print and sign scale tickets for all unloaded and loaded-out grain by truck or rail.Responsible for accurately taking samples of all unloaded and loaded grain.Responsible for keeping charts indicating location and contents of storage tanks and bins.Complete and accurately monitor grades by weighing grain samples and recording results.Operate production equipment; start conveyors, bucket elevators, select flow pipes, and select storage tanks to convey grain into storage or for load out.Prepare rail car for loading; open/close rail car lids using anti-fall harness (safely exit the rail car height: 15-20 feet).Operate a forklift.Maintain all equipment, including repair, periodic maintenance, and service.
