Job summary

Columbia Grain International, LLC is seeking a Warehouse Operator to record data on receiving, storing, and shipping of grain at grain elevators. You'll work with a team to meet safety, quality and efficiency goals while handling scale tickets, sampling, and operating conveyors and forklifts.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, basic computer skills, and the ability to read safety rules and maintenance procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Record weights of grain and print scale tickets for all unloads and loads.
  • Take representative samples of all unloaded and loaded grain.
  • Operate conveyors, bucket elevators, and select storage tanks for loading or storage.
  • Prepare rail cars for loading and manage access to rail car lids safely.
  • Maintain equipment and perform general housekeeping and safety duties.

We've spent over 40 years cultivating lasting partnerships with a wide network of producers and the local communities surrounding our facilities, which enables us to source the highest quality product and to fulfill our mission of feeding the worldPosition DescriptionThe Warehouse Operator will be responsible for recording data pertaining to receiving, storing, and shipping of grain at grain elevators. The Warehouse Operator will work with the other members of the team to work toward operational goals while maintaining quality and efficiencies.Primary Duties and ResponsibilitiesOperate production equipment; open and close slide gates to start and stop flow of grain.Accurately weigh grain and record in computer system; print and sign scale tickets for all unloaded and loaded-out grain by truck or rail.Responsible for accurately taking samples of all unloaded and loaded grain.Responsible for keeping charts indicating location and contents of storage tanks and bins.Complete and accurately monitor grades by weighing grain samples and recording results.Operate production equipment; start conveyors, bucket elevators, select flow pipes, and select storage tanks to convey grain into storage or for load out.Prepare rail car for loading; open/close rail car lids using anti-fall harness (safely exit the rail car height: 15-20 feet).Operate a forklift.Maintain all equipment, including repair, periodic maintenance, and service.
