Job summary

GEODIS Elk Grove Village is hiring for a warehouse associate to read schedules, pick and pack orders, and move materials safely. You will operate forklifts, stock shelves, and support inventory control while ensuring quality and safety standards. Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 3–6 months of warehouse experience or training.
• Forklift experience preferred.
• Ability to read and understand simple instructions.
• Follow safety regulations while operating equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Read schedules and orders to determine items to move.
• Prepare products for shipment and ensure correct quantities.
• Sort and place materials according to size/type/color.
• Assemble customer orders and stage for packing/shipping.
• Operate power equipment to move and stage goods.
• Maintain equipment and report needed service.
• Support safety and security of the warehouse.
• Record quantities received and distributed.
• Conduct daily inventory and cycle counts.
• Perform duties as assigned by supervisor.

Your role on the team: (job description)

• Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition todetermineitems to be moved, gathered, and/or distributed
• Pulls and prepares product for shipment, ensuring that the exact number and type of product is loaded
• Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code
• Assembles customer orders from stock, stage orders and/or conveys orders to packing station or shipping department according to OH or customer pick sheet
• Loads, unloads, moves, stacks and stages products and materials using afork lift, clamp truck or other power equipment
• Maintains equipment by keeping it clean and safe, reporting service requests as needed
• Assistsinmaintainingthe security of the warehouse by conducting operations in a manner which promotes safety
• Checks orders for exactness and neatness according to ISO 9001 procedures
• Marks materials with identifying information
• Recordsamountsof materials or items received or distributed
• Weighs or counts items for distribution within warehouse to ensure conformance to company standards
• Efficiently moves and loads product from staging and/or storage areas into trailers
• Unloads inbound freight safely and moves products to storage locations
• Performs picking duties in an efficient manner that meets both company and customer standards
• Assistswith physical inventories and cycle counts, ensuring proper stock rotation
• Other duties asrequiredand assigned by supervisor
• For food accounts, incumbent is responsibleto reportfood safety problems to senior management toinitiateaction.

What you need:(requirements)

• High school education or GED (General Education Diploma) equivalency
• Minimum 3 to 6 months experience and/or training in a warehouse environment
• Previousexperience operating warehouse equipment such as a forklift preferred
• Ability to read andcomprehendsimple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
• Ability to follow safety regulations while operating equipment
• Ability to regularlylift upto 50 pounds
• Ability to learn proper operations of warehouse equipment
