Job description

The Warehouse Operations Planner ensures the fulfillment center has the system support, processes, and training required to achieve operational objectives. They coordinate between systems, the fulfillment center, and operations teams to develop and maintain detailed functional requirements and operational process flows. The role involves prioritizing and managing the delivery, functional testing, and implementation of new functionalities and enhancements, managing and validating data integrity, and analyzing key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify opportunities for continual improvement within the operation and system functionality.

Responsibilities:

  1. Follow all safety guidelines and perform tasks safely and carefully.
  2. Troubleshoot and resolve issues with warehouse management systems (WMS) and warehouse control systems (WCS).
  3. Serve as the vendor point of contact for all WMS/WCS needs.
  4. Monitor conveyance and automation systems to ensure proper workflow.
  5. Document all system changes.
  6. Handle exception reporting for all warehouse functions, including root cause analysis and problem solving.
  7. Prepare and deliver sales and operational reports required for the fulfillment center.
  8. Create on-demand reports for the Operations Team.
  9. Research SLA and Aged order discrepancies identified by the reporting team.
  10. Plan and execute physical/systemic setups for business changes, including locations, put-away logic, pick path/zone adjustments, and SKU slotting.
  11. Create detailed SOPs for changes driven by the business.

The Warehouse Operations Planner is trained in all department processes and updates SOPs as needed. They lead and execute project work and client requests, partner with clients on value-added services, and share knowledge of potential system changes with the Operations Team. The role involves creating and updating slotting matrices, monitoring aged inventory transactions, auditing item profiles, managing RTV processing, assisting with client transfers, verifying aged receipt transactions, training and coaching staff, and performing duties of a Wave Planner when absent. They also assist with user setup, password resets, and training associates for new system rollouts, providing information and training to other sites.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 2-4 years of experience in warehouse, distribution, or manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of conveyor sortation and automation systems
  • Good verbal skills to communicate with vendors and maintenance teams
  • Initiative, dependability, motivation, attention to detail, and computer skills (MS Office, email)
  • Working knowledge of WMS systems
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs
