Job summary

Cardinal Health is seeking a Warehouse Operations Supervisor in New York to lead outbound teams and ensure safe, efficient pick, pack and ship operations. You’ll oversee a day or night shift, drive on-time shipments, and coach staff to maintain high-quality performance.

You will contribute to Cardinal Health’s customer service reputation by maintaining operational excellence, optimizing staffing, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage warehouse associates to achieve timely distribution and receipt of product.
• Monitor productivity and operational performance metrics; provide coaching and corrective action.
• Manage workforce scheduling and staffing to support efficient receiving, replenishment, inventory, and shipping operations.
• Develop employees through training, coaching, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
• Maintain attendance, PTO, and scheduling records.
• Promote safety and continuous improvement; ensure equipment and resources are available.
• Recommend and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
• Resolve customer inquiries, shipment issues, and inventory concerns.
• Manage resources and budgets to meet objectives and control costs.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, DEA, FDA, and internal policies; coordinate QA-related initiatives.
• Coordinate equipment maintenance and repair activities.
• Prepare ad hoc operational reports.

The salary range listed is an estimate. Pay at Cardinal Health is determined by multiple factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s geographical location, relevant education, experience and skills and an evaluation of internal pay equity.

Shift: 4x10s, Monday, Thursday, Friday 4:30pm - 3am; and Saturday 2:30pm - 1am or until task complete

• The schedule is subject to change based on business and operational needs. Availability to work holidays, overtime, and additional hours as needed is required.

What Warehouse Operations contributes to Cardinal Health

Operations is responsible for materials handling and product distribution in a distribution or manufacturing environment. Includes warehousing and fulfillment of materials and products, transportation, inventory management as well as demand, supply and manufacturing planning.

Warehouse Operations is responsible for performing/controlling a combination of manual or automated tasks necessary for the receipt, storage, and shipment of product. This may include functions of receiving, picking, packing, shipping, staging, transporting, storage, delivery, etc. Also responsible for the efficient flow of products from the point of product receipt from vendors to the shipment of products (via prescribed service parameters) to a variety of internal and external customers.

Job Summary

The Warehouse Operations Supervisor supervises a team of Outbound Associates and ensures that pick, pack, and ship operations outbound are safe, efficient, and of high quality. This Leader will be tasked with delivering Just In Time inventory to our Valuelink customers. With responsibility for a day or night shift, the Supervisor continually monitors efficiency and quality metrics, assigns work and provides coaching to supervised staff, and addresses a variety of operational issues. The Supervisor directly contributes to Cardinal Health’s customer service reputation by ensuring that shipments are on-time and of high quality, develops the Warehouse Operations talent pool, and enhances operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage warehouse associates to achieve timely distribution and receipt of product and motivate employees to ensure that predetermined productivity and quality standards are achieved.
• Monitor productivity and operational performance metrics, providing coaching, feedback, and corrective action as needed to meet Distribution Center objectives.
• Manage workforce scheduling and staffing to support efficient receiving, replenishment, inventory, and shipping operations.
• Develop employees through training, coaching, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions to maintain a productive work environment.
• Maintain accurate attendance, PTO, and workforce scheduling records.
• Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement while ensuring employees have the equipment and resources necessary to perform their work safely and effectively.
• Recommend and implement process improvements to increase operational efficiency, optimize space utilization, improve customer service, and reduce costs.
• Ensure prompt resolution of customer inquiries, shipment issues, and inventory-related concerns while maintaining high service standards.
• Manage operational resources and budgets to achieve business objectives and cost-effectiveness.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, DEA, FDA, Cardinal Health, and applicable state and local regulations, serving as the primary contact for QRA-related initiatives.
• Coordinate equipment preventive maintenance and repair activities to support safe and efficient operations.
• Prepare ad hoc operational reports as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent work experience, preferred
• 4+ years related experience, preferred
• Leadership experience preferred
• Experience leading continuous improvement initiatives, with working knowledge of Six Sigma process improvement methodologies preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Previous experience leading a team
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Products
