Job summary

CHS Inc. in Othello, WA is hiring a Warehouse Operations Specialist to support daily warehouse functions in a fast-paced agribusiness environment. You will operate forklifts, move products, assist bagging operations, maintain accurate inventory, and ensure safety and food safety standards.

The schedule is Monday–Friday, 2:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m., with occasional weekend work. You will join the largest co-op in the U.S., contributing to local communities while enjoying a safe, team-focused work

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience in Supply Chain and Procurement and/or Warehouse Operations.
  • Must meet minimum age requirement.

Responsibilities

  • Under general direction, perform all warehouse functions including loading/unloading trailers, moving pallets, palletizing product, picking orders and documenting.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment and comply with procedures and regulations.
  • Assist in training new employees.
  • Manage product inventory and follow FIFO shipping and rotation principles.
  • Complete shipping, receiving and inspection documents neatly and accurately.
  • Operate equipment for loading/unloading, including end loader, fork lift and skid loader.
  • Conduct truck and railcar inspections prior to loading with product.
  • Perform basic preventative maintenance and assist maintenance staff as needed.
  • Follow all plant and food safety rules and procedures.
  • Identify hazards and communicate them to maintain a safe workplace.

Summary

Join our team in Othello, WA as a Warehouse Operations Specialist and play a key role in supporting daily warehouse operations in a fast-paced agricultural environment! Responsibilities include operating forklifts, filling totes, supporting bagging operations, performing inventory counts, and safely moving and handling products throughout the facility. This position also involves maintaining accurate inventory records, following shipping and receiving procedures, and ensuring compliance with all safety and food safety standards. Candidates should have at least one year of warehouse or supply chain experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to meet the physical requirements of the position. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 2:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., with weekend work as needed to meet business demands.

Responsibilities
  • Under general direction, perform all job functions within the warehouse including loading/unloading trailers, moving pallets of product, palletizing product, picking orders and completing documentation.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area and workstations neat/clean and complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
  • Assist in training new employees.
  • Manage product inventory and follow first in-first out shipping and rotation principles.
  • Complete shipping, receiving and inspection documents neatly and accurately.
  • Operate equipment for loading and unloading. This includes operating an end loader, switching engine, fork lift, and skid loader.
  • Conduct truck and railcar inspections prior to loading with product.
  • Perform basic preventative maintenance and assist maintenance techs as needed.
  • Follow all plant and food safety rules and procedures.
  • Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (required)
  • 1+ years of experience in Supply Chain and Procurement and/or Warehouse Operations
  • Must meet minimum age requirement
Additional Qualifications
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain forklift certification
  • Ability to perform math related to order counts and inventory management
  • Ability to work extended hours during peak seasons to meet business demands
  • High School diploma or GED preferred
  • Prior warehouse experience preferred
  • Pre-employment screening is based on the job requirements and industry guidelines and may or may not be required for the position. If required, selected candidates must pass pre-employment screenings to include all or a combination of drug, criminal, motor vehicle check, physical requirements and FMSCA Clearinghouse.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, squat, twist and bend repeatedly
  • Ability to climb ladders, stairs and bins
  • Ability to lift 100 pounds repeatedly
  • Ability to wear all required PPE such as: hard hat, hair net, safety glasses, face mask, and safety boots
  • Ability to work in dust and adverse weather conditions and temperatures

Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications, minimum wage/salary requirements under local law.
