Job summary

RR Donnelley & Sons in Houston, TX seeks an experienced Warehouse Operations Manager for a Monday–Friday schedule (7am–5pm) with occasional Saturdays. You will oversee receiving, storage, shipping, and inventory control, while leading a team to optimize space, workflow, and costs.

The role requires 4+ years in warehouse operations with at least 3 in supervision, plus a Bachelor's degree. Prior experience with data analytics or ERP systems is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years of related experience with at least 3 in a supervisory role.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Experience with Data Analytics, Warehouse Management or ERP Systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage budgets and control labor costs.
  • Track KPIs to optimize productivity and reduce costs.
  • Ensure safety and compliance with regulations (OSHA).
  • Lead and mentor staff to achieve high performance.
  • Plan and direct warehouse activities prioritizing safety and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with IE and management to set productivity and quality standards.
  • Set goals and motivate warehouse personnel to achieve them.
  • Develop a culture of safety with zero incidents/accidents.
  • Conduct 5S audits and address actions timely.
  • Manage training needs and implement process improvements.
  • Ensure equipment is safe and properly maintained.
  • Perform cycle counts and physical inventories as required.
  • Attend training and complete assigned programs.

Job Description

RRD is seeking an experienced Warehouse Operations Manager for our Houston, TX facility!

The hours of this position are Monday-Friday, 7am-5pm with occasional Saturdays as needed.

Summary

The Warehouse Manager has overall accountability for the efficiency, space and workflow optimization, and inventory accuracy of the warehouse operation.He/She will oversee daily activities including receiving, storage, shipping, material handling, inventory control, staff supervision, and team development.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage operational budgets and control labor costs.
  • Track and evaluate key performance metrics to optimize productivity, reduce bottlenecks, and reduce operational costs.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory bodies such as Occupational Safety and Heath Administration.
  • Lead, coach, mentor, motivate and inspire direct reports to achieve an optimum level of performance by consistently demonstrating role model behavior in all that is said and done.
  • Plans and directs Warehouse activities and establishes priorities in keeping with safe, effective, and efficient operations and cost factors, while ensuring inventory accuracy and timeliness.
  • Work with industrial engineering and management personnel to establish productivity and quality standards.
  • Set goals for employees and motivate Warehouse personnel to achieve their goals.
  • Work with the supervisors to develop a safety culture with zero incidents/accidents.
  • Conduct 5S audits. Ensure 5S audit actions are addressed in a timely manner and are effective.
  • Ensure employees know and understand customer and quality requirements and standards.
  • Set the quality direction to meet/exceed customer requirements in a cost-effective manner.
  • Maintain employee awareness and adherence to ISO standards and procedures. Ensure the Quality Policy and objectives are understood and enacted.
  • Ensure process corrective actions are addressed in a timely manner and are effective, including conducting audits of effectiveness.
  • Provide leadership in identifying, developing, and implementing process improvements in the Warehouse.
  • Ensure that equipment is maintained and operated in a safe manner.
  • Evaluate and provide training as needed, setting in place a long-term training strategy.
  • Compile, distribute, evaluate, and action Warehouse metrics.
  • With inventory control personnel, conducts cycle counts and physical inventory activities as required.
  • Participate in and satisfactorily complete all training seminars and related programs required of the assigned position.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management representatives within the scope of responsibility and the requirements of the job.
Qualifications

Education -Minimum - 4 Year / Bachelors Degree

Years of Experience- Minimum - 4 years of related experience, 3 of which were in a supervisory capacity is required; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience is required.

  • Ability to function independently in a multi-task environment, as well as part of a team
  • Strong interpersonal skills to ensure appropriate communication with all levels of management and employees
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office computer software applications including E-Mail, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Word, and the use of Internet Explorer.
Additional Qualifications:
  • Experience with Data Analytics, Warehouse Management or ERP Systems a Plus
  • Experience with Good Manufacturing Practices a Plus
Additional Information

The salary pay range for this role at the noted location is $78,700 to $125,900. The actual rate of pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to: education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift, and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include, overtime, shift differential, call-in, and stand-by pay. RRD offers benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, disability insurance, 401(k) with match, life insurance and other voluntary supplemental insurance coverages, plus tuition assistance,maternity leave, adoption assistance, and employer/partner discounts.
