Job summary

Forgent Power Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Department Lead to guide the production team and collaborate with the Materials Supervisor to achieve goals in productivity, quality, delivery, and safety.

You will train staff, direct departmental work, and drive operational efficiency on the production floor, leading by example with strong leadership and communication to foster a safe, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years experience in a manufacturing or leadership role.
• Knowledge of Electrical Power Distribution Equipment.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Working knowledge of OSHA standards.
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Spend approximately 80% of the workday on production activities.
• Prioritize job assignments with Supervisor and Leads to meet demand and production schedule.
• Train employees on safety practices and department procedures.
• Ensure adherence to standardized work, instructions, and procedures.
• Monitor quality output and address non-conformances with the Production Supervisor.
• Ensure departmental compliance with all safety standards and report issues.
• Monitor and report daily defects, scrap, and lost time.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Enforce the use of required Personal Protective Equipment and OSHA compliance.
• Identify and support process improvements and cost-saving opportunities.
• Demonstrate strong leadership and communication with hourly teams and management.
• Lead by example in promoting accountability, continuous improvement, and teamwork.
• Other duties as assigned
