Epic Can is seeking a Warehouse Lead to supervise distribution center operations in Shreveport, LA. The role requires coordinating inbound/outbound logistics, leading a team, and ensuring safety and quality standards across all processes.

Responsibilities include managing inventory, audits, and documenting procedures while collaborating with procurement and site services to maintain efficient operations. Weekend or night shifts may be required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years in warehousing/logistics leadership or supervisor roles.

  • Experience with warehouse operations, inventory, and safety programs (OSHA).

Responsibilities

  • Direct inbound and outbound logistics operations including transportation and warehouse activities.
  • Lead safety meetings and ensure OSHA regulations are followed.
  • Oversee receiving, inventory control (FIFO), and documentation.
  • Coordinate with procurement and site services to improve communications.
  • Process reductions of waste and improve safety and quality standards.
  • Ensure compliance with SQF and facilitate audits.
  • Monitor and report on safety issues and corrective actions.

Description

Warehouse leads are responsible for supply chain management in distribution centers. Their duties and responsibilities include supervising employees and evaluating their performance, meeting safety regulations, and monitoring deliveries and shipments. They are the ones who interact with customers and clients to resolve any delivery issues that may arise. They also help with some administrative tasks such as order and invoice processing and maintenance. This role applies to those with excellent communication skills, leadership capabilities, and strong attention to detail.

Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned at any time with or without notice.

  • Lead to enhance communication between the warehouse, procurement/purchasing and site services.
  • Process any RMA’s and RTV’s as directed by purchasing or procurement department.
  • Operate warehouse forklifts/ equipment to replenish inventory and perform other tasks around the warehouse.
  • Coordinate safety meetings and create presentations and procedures base on OSHA requirements.
  • Ensure that all personnel understand and follow safety regulations according to OSHA.
  • Conduct weekly safety meetings with team.
  • Direct inbound and outbound logistics operations, including transportation, warehouse activities, safety performance and logistics quality management.
  • Lead the team in the receiving process, properly maintain all documents in compliance with SQF.
  • Plan and organize receipt and issue of records for all classes of supply to include hazardous materials or materials that require cold storage.
  • Ability to understand how to ship hazardous materials according to HazMat Regulations.
  • Ability to pass internal and external audits successfully providing departmental document control in accordance to SQF practices.
  • Monitor inbound FTL /LTL efficiency practices.
  • Update on any security concerns around the warehouse.
  • Help manage an accurate, revolving FIFO inventory and rigorously investigate any discrepancies.
  • Report any safety issues, concerns that may arise during business hours with the outmost importance.
  • Ensure that all employees are practicing safety, using proper eye gear, face coverings and or proper handling of equipment.
Food Safety Responsibilities
  • Complete food and safety training and implementation if required.
  • Ensure the proper housekeeping procedures and efficient operations to meet SQF standards.
  • Inspect all inbound and outbound materials and make sure they are safe to use, accept and or ship to our customers with 100% quality approval.
  • Monitor Inventory (Ingredients/dry goods) and make QC Department of nearing expiration dates.
  • Ensure all ingredients that require cold storage are properly handled and stored in a refrigerated room.
  • Ensure all goods received with Hazardous Materials are properly and accurately labeled for safety.
  • Ensure Proper sealed and contained work environment to prevent outside particles/contaminants is exercised.
Required Experience and Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in warehousing and logistics with beverage distribution background.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a leadership role supervising people and process.
  • Working knowledge of warehousing, transportation equipment and processes.
  • Confidence and ability to effectively communicate appropriately with all levels of management and staff.
  • Ability to lead large staff.
  • Forklift Certification Required
  • OSHA Private Training is a plus.
  • Strong awareness of Environmental Safety standards.
  • Comprehensive budgeting and financial skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Must be willing to work weekends, holidays and nights if required.
Desired Characteristics
  • Production & Management Experience, Certification in warehouse management is a plus.
  • Solid background in managing Warehouse and Distribution.
  • Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects concurrently, with confidence to multi-task.
  • Ability to drive team results through strong leadership and development skills.
  • Ability to identify and communicate creative solutions to challenges and to maintain a consistent focus on priorities with persistent follow-through.
  • Ability to deal well with ambiguity and constant change, working in fast-paced environments with accelerated production schedules.
  • A strong passion to drive high quality results in product as well as process.
  • Ability to work well under extreme pressure situations.
