Job summary

Industrial Physics Inc. is seeking a Warehouse Operations Coordinator for our Greensboro, North Carolina location. This on-site role requires hands-on management of inbound/outbound material, inventory accuracy, and coordination with Purchasing and vendors.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate/bachelor preferred
  • 3+ years warehouse experience with strong inventory control and cycle counting
  • Experience kitting for production/manufacturing environments preferred
  • Experience with WMS/ERP systems and shipping documentation
  • Forklift certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and strong attention to detail

Responsibilities

We currently have an opening for a Warehouse Operations Coordinator for Industrial Physics in our Greensboro, North Carolina location.

Summary
  • Receive inbound materials, verify quantities and condition against purchase orders and packing slips, and complete timely put-away in designated storage locations.
  • Investigate and resolve damaged, short, incorrect, or otherwise discrepant shipments with Purchasing and vendors.
  • Maintain accurate, real-time inventory records through cycle counts, discrepancy investigations, corrective actions, and accurate WMS/ERP transactions.
  • Drive continuous improvement in inventory accuracy to minimize shrinkage, obsolescence, shortages, and count variances.
  • Accurately kit materials for production work orders, verify completeness against bills of material, and coordinate material needs to prevent production downtime.
  • Coordinate accurate, on-time outbound shipments, including carrier selection, pickup scheduling, freight-rate comparisons, and shipping documentation.
  • Maintain and continuously improve warehouse layout, labeling, storage locations, space utilization, material flow, organization, and safety.
  • As the role and warehouse team grow, responsibilities may expand to include training and coaching additional warehouse staff, assigning daily tasks, monitoring workflow, and supporting broader safety and compliance oversight.

Requirements
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain, or related field preferred
  • 3+ years of warehouse experience, with strong emphasis on inventory control, cycle counting, and kitting accuracy
  • Experience kitting for production/manufacturing environments strongly preferred
  • Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) and/or ERP systems
  • Working knowledge of freight/carrier coordination and shipping documentation
  • Strong attention to detail and a track record of maintaining high inventory/kitting accuracy
  • Forklift certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills; comfortable working independently
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Supervisory Responsibility
  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities, but is expected to later as the position and staffing needs grow.
Physical Demands
  • May require lifting, pulling, pushing, and carrying up to fifty (50) pounds.
  • Standing up to ten (10) hours per day, or a combination of sitting and standing.
  • Ability to hear and see, with or without the assistance of a device.
  • Ability to read intricate, small, and detailed writing with or without the use of corrective lenses.
