Job summary

Leeco Steel LLC in Portage, IN is seeking a Warehouse worker for the 2nd shift (Mon–Fri, 2:00 PM–10:30 PM). The role involves controlling warehouse inventory by coordinating movement of steel from receiving to warehouse to shipping, and performing related documentation and data entry tasks.

The ideal candidate will have teamwork and inventory-control skills, with preference for those who have overhead crane experience.

Qualifications

• Experience in warehouse and inventory control required or preferred.
• Overhead crane experience preferred for this role.
• Able to work the 2nd shift (Mon–Fri, 2:00 PM–10:30 PM).

Responsibilities

• Receives orders and processes steel distribution.
• Stores product by designated storage areas and adjusts storage as needed.
• Prepares product for shipment by verifying location and staging movements.
• Verifies inventory reports by logs and makes adjustments.
• Documents actions with forms, logs and records; maintains databases.
• Monitors inventory by performing counts as required.
• Supports distribution tasks and related results as needed.
• Reports on Excel spreadsheets.

Job description

Leeco Steel is a leading supplier of steel plate from the premier mills worldwide. Due to our continued growth we are seeking an additional Warehouse worker for our Portage, IN location. Previous experience operating an overhead crane is preferred. This is a 2nd shift position, Monday - Friday 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM

Job Purpose

Controls warehouse inventory by coordinating movement of steel from receiving to warehouse to shipping.

Duties

• Receives orders, loads and process steel distribution.
• Stores product by designating storage areas; adjusting storage areas according to production and shipping requirements; updating location database.
• Prepares product for shipment by verifying location; directing movement to staging area; resolving problems.
• Verifies product inventory reports by comparing logs and reports; adjusting entries.
• Documents actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records; maintaining databases.
• Monitors inventory by completing counts as required.
• Accomplishes distribution and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
• Report on excel spreadsheets.
