Job summary

Hood Distribution is seeking a Warehouse/Mill Associate to support lumber operations, loading, unloading, and general distribution. The role requires forklift operation certification, ability to read a tape measure, basic math, and adherence to safety standards in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates will have experience in lumber or building materials and be able to maintain accurate inventory while maximizing production yield.

Qualifications

Job description

Warehouse/Mill Associates should have experience in warehouse operations, distribution and machinery. Perform general bulk receiving, and truck loading. Perform warehouse distribution activities. Ability to read a tape measure and do basic math functions. Previous or current forklift certification required. Ideal candidate would have Lumber and or Lumber yard experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operates forklift truck during the loading and unloading of lumber material
• Utilize cutting tools and equipment such as power saw and circular saw
• Guide lumber through mill equipment, and planning mill for fine finishing and processing.
• Take inventory and maintain accurate record of material, process orders
• Maximize production time and finish product yield
• Maintains PPE and safety equipment
• Ensure compliance with health and safety standards during work operations
• Physical strength, dexterity and stamina
• Forklift Certification required

Salary: $18.00-$19.00

Requirements/Qualifications:

• High School diploma
• Some experience in warehouse operations, distribution, etc. in building materials or related product areas. Forklift operation certification and hardwood knowledge is preferred.
