Job description

Description

Fervo is building the most cost-effective, repeatable power plants in the world, unlocking 24/7 carbon-free energy from geothermal. Delivering on that mission at Cape Station requires disciplined materials management — the right equipment, in the right place, at the right time, to keep construction, commissioning, and operations moving without delay.

The Warehouse & Materials Technician is the backbone of that discipline on site. As Cape Station scales from first-of-a-kind demonstration into fleet-scale production, the warehouse function becomes mission-critical: every crew depends on materials being received, verified, stored, and staged correctly and on schedule. This role owns that reliability day to day — unloading deliveries, operating material-handling equipment, maintaining accurate inventory records, and making sure the right parts are always available when the plant needs them.

The Warehouse & Materials Technician supports the safe and efficient receipt, handling, storage, tracking, and distribution of equipment and materials at Cape Station. This hands‑on role is responsible for unloading deliveries, verifying shipments, operating material‑handling equipment, maintaining accurate inventory records, and ensuring materials are properly stored and available to support construction, commissioning, maintenance, and plant operations.

The successful candidate will be safety-focused, dependable, organized, and comfortable working in an active industrial environment.

Requirements
Responsibilities
  • Receive, unload, inspect, and stage incoming materials, equipment, and packages.
  • Verify shipments against purchase orders, packing slips, bills of lading, and other receiving documentation.

  • Document receipt of materials in the applicable inventory‑management system, spreadsheet, or receiving log.
  • Label, tag, photograph, and properly store received materials.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material‑handling equipment safely and in accordance with site requirements.
  • Pick, stage, and issue materials for construction, commissioning, maintenance, and operations personnel.
  • Maintain accurate inventory counts and material‑location records.
  • Support cycle counts, physical inventories, and reconciliation of inventory discrepancies.
  • Assist with tracking critical spares, consumables, tools, and owner‑furnished equipment.
  • Coordinate with site personnel to prioritize urgent or time‑sensitive deliveries.
  • Maintain organized warehouse, laydown, and receiving areas using established housekeeping and material‑preservation standards.
  • Ensure materials are protected from weather, contamination, damage, and deterioration.
  • Maintain receiving records, equipment inspection logs, and other required documentation.
  • Support outbound shipments, returns, transfers, and material disposition activities.
  • Follow all site safety requirements, including required personal protective equipment, traffic plans, lifting procedures, and equipment inspections.

  • Basic computer skills, including email, spreadsheets, and electronic inventory or receiving systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate recordkeeping.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with warehouse personnel, contractors, vendors, and site teams.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to pass all required site‑access, safety, and contractor onboarding requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting power generation, construction, commissioning, manufacturing, oil and gas, or another heavy‑industrial operation.
  • Familiarity with inventory‑management, ERP, CMMS, or procurement systems.
  • Experience handling mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, piping, or maintenance materials.
