Job summary

MOVA Metals in Texas is seeking a Materials Handler Supervisor to plan, direct, and supervise material handling within the catalyst recycling facility. You will lead a team of material handlers and equipment operators, ensuring safe, compliant movements of raw materials, spent catalyst, and waste streams, while maintaining accurate inventory.

This role emphasizes safety, regulatory compliance, and the ability to coordinate with shipping and production to meet ever-changing schedules in a 24/7

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of three years of industrial material handling experience.
• Minimum of three years of supervisory experience in chemical, manufacturing, or industrial operations.
• Experience with hazardous materials handling preferred.
• Must be able to pass a respirator fit test.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Knowledge of DOT shipping requirements preferred.
• Working knowledge of OSHA, HASMAT, RCRA

Responsibilities

• Promote a culture centered on safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
• Conduct daily shift meetings and communicate operational priorities.
• Responsible for scheduling, training, coaching, performance management, and employee development for Material Handlers.
• Maintain appropriate staffing levels to support 24/7 operations.
• Ensure proper identification, labeling, segregation, and storage of all materials.
• Maintain orderly laydown yard and storage areas.
• Supervise loading and unloading of trucks, railcars, containers, and other transport vehicles.
• Maintain accurate inventory records utilizing the company’s inventory management system.
• Perform prescribed preventative maintenance on equipment and machines as required.
• Conduct routine safety observations and workplace inspections.
• Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments.
• Verify shipping documentation for accuracy.
• Ensure compliance with transportation regulations.
• Monitor shipping schedules to meet customer and production requirements.
• Any other duty as assigned by management.

Position Summary

The Materials Handler Supervisor is responsible for planning, directing, and supervising all material handling operations within the catalyst recycling facility. This position ensures the safe, efficient, and compliant movement, storage, staging, and shipment of raw materials, spent catalyst, finished products, hazardous materials, and waste streams. The supervisor leads a team of material handlers and equipment operators while maintaining strict compliance with safety, environmental, quality, and regulatory requirements.

This position plays a critical role in supporting uninterrupted plant operations by ensuring materials are available where needed while maintaining accurate inventory records and minimizing handling risks.

Essential Functions

Working Conditions

• Industrial catalyst recycling facility
• Exposure to heat, dust, noise, moving equipment, and heavy industrial machinery.
• Working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• May be required to work weekend, holidays, overtime, and respond to plant emergencies.
• Support a continuous 24-hour operations.
• Push, pull, and lift a minimum of up to 50 pounds.
• Stand, sit, walk, reach, bend, squat, kneel, and climb stars/ladders for an entire shift
• Must wear PPE when required.
