Base pay range

$17.20/hr - $17.20/hr

We are on a mission to grow Second Nature Brands 4x from $500MM to $1+B in the next 4 years through a combination of organic growth (increased distribution, e-commerce, and innovation) and through M&A.

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Warehouse Material Handler, who will be an important member of the supply chain team during this growth. This position will be based out of Sanders Chocolate Factory 23770 Hall Road in Clinton Township, MI 48036

Regular working hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm, with weekday or weekend overtime as needed. The starting rate is $17.20 per hour.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities Include

  • Accurately pick customer orders using RF scanners, ensuring correct products and quantities are picked according to order specifications.
  • Safely operate a stand-up forklift to transport materials, including stacking and retrieving items from 4-high racking.
  • Load and unload trucks, ensuring proper handling of goods and maintaining safety standards.
  • Follow FEFO inventory management procedures to ensure products with the earliest expiration dates are picked and shipped first.
  • Utilize SAP for inventory tracking, order picking, and reporting, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately.
  • Prepare Bills of Lading (BOLs), packing slips, and other shipping documents for outgoing orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with shipping requirements.
  • Receive inbound shipments, verify product types, quantities, and quality, and ensure that all received materials match the order specifications.
  • Place incoming materials into appropriate racking based on product type, handling instructions, and allergen policies to maintain proper segregation and prevent cross-contamination.
  • Perform regular stock rotation to ensure product freshness and minimize inventory shrinkage.
  • Participate in inventory audits and cycle counts, reporting discrepancies and assisting with inventory reconciliation.
  • Prepare and organize outbound loads of finished products for intercompany shipments, ensuring the correct products are ready for transport to other facilities or locations.
  • Organize and maintain inventory in the warehouse, ensuring materials are stored in the correct locations for easy access.
  • Follow all GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), Q&FS (Quality & Food Safety), and OSHA Safety policies.
  • Maintain clean and safe work area.
  • Preform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • You are 18 years of age or older.
  • Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience as a material handler, warehouse worker, or similar role.
  • Stand-up and sitting Hilo and experience operating forklifts in a warehouse setting ( required).
  • Proficiency with RF scanners for order picking and inventory management.
  • Understanding of FEFO (First Expired, First Out) principles and their application in a warehouse environment.
  • Familiarity with SAP or similar inventory management systems for order processing and inventory tracking.
  • Strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail in order picking, inventory management, and documentation.
  • Knowledge of allergen policies and the ability to apply them when placing products into storage.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment while maintaining a high level of individual responsibility.
  • Knowledge of warehouse safety protocols and commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Must be available to work weekend and overtime as needed ( required )

Physical Requirements

  • Can stand, bend, reach, and kneel, for extended periods frequently.
  • Can walk up and down stairs frequently.
  • Can lift up to 50 lbs and move items frequently.
  • Wearing proper personal protective equipment (PPE) provided by company.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a food manufacturing or distribution warehouse.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office.
