Job summary

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a Warehouse Worker within the Logistics Service to handle and oversee product lines in a large warehouse. Responsibilities include receiving, storing, selecting, and shipping materials with a focus on safety and efficiency.

The role may involve senior duties in smaller facilities and requires working under various conditions, including manual lifting and operation of handling equipment. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm.

Qualifications

• Experience with warehouse work including receiving, storing, selecting and shipping of materials.
• Ability to coordinate shipments and storage within a warehouse framework.
• Knowledge of material handling safety and PPE requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements storage plans for assigned area(s) and moves supplies accordingly.
• Consolidates materials to maximize space utilization and protection.
• Coordinates incoming and outgoing shipments and placement of materials on docking areas.
• Selects storage locations within the warehouse plan.
• Rotates stock and checks for outdated materials; maintains temperature controls where needed.
• Handles delivery and warehousing of hazardous, flammable, and temp-sensitive products.
• Dri ves vehicles up to 4500 pounds with lift equipment.
• Organizes supplies for easy access and efficiency.
• Submits monthly reports and status updates.
• Coordinates excess/turn-ins of equipment and materials.
• May serve as a senior member of a warehouse project team.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
