Job summary

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is hiring a Warehouse Worker Supervisor in the Storage and Distribution area of the Logistics Service.

You will supervise daily warehouse operations including receiving, storing, selecting and shipping bulk and bin materials and equipment to support health care services. Responsibilities include planning workloads, directing staff, ensuring safe handling of hazardous materials, and maintaining accurate records.

Qualifications

• Experience leading/supervising a team to accomplish warehouse tasks.
• Ability to plan workloads for workers, equipment, and facilities.
• Knowledge of safe receipt, storage and movement of materials.
• Familiarity with hazardous materials handling and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Supervises workers through leads in one or more product lines.
• Plans daily workload, equipment, facilities, and materials.
• Oversees receipt and delivery of supplies and equipment.
• Determines workflow and prioritizes assignments.
• Develops stock storage plans and space utilization.
• Ensures safe handling of hazardous materials.
• Provides technical direction to maintain a neat, orderly warehouse.
• Maintains documentation for tracking work assignments.
