Job summary

Outdoor Cap Company is seeking a Material Handler 1 to receive, store, and distribute materials within the distribution center. You will read various documents, pick orders, label items, move freight, and ensure correct SKU placement.

The role requires scanning, accurate packing, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement. The position emphasizes teamwork, safety, accuracy, and flexibility to work overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred but not mandatory.
• 1+ years of distribution center experience.
• Lift certifications a plus.
• Verifiable work history.
• Microsoft Office and WMS experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Read shipment summaries, POs, packing lists and other documents in the DC.
• Accurately and efficiently pick orders with little supervision.
• Assist Team Lead with labeling and verification per customer guidelines.
• Move freight between bins, racks and assigned areas, keep bins stocked.
• Sort packages by SKU for receiving/storage and load UPS/FedEx shipments.
• Use hand-held scanner or tagging gun as needed.
• Participate in meetings and provide/receive feedback.
• Maintain a clean, safe, organized work area and be willing to work overtime.
