Job summary

Gentex is seeking a Material Handler to move material in a safe, accurate, and efficient manner using industrial lift trucks and related equipment. Responsibilities include receiving, shipping, inventory transactions, and cycle counts, with focus on accuracy and safety.

Qualifications

• Ability to obtain certification and operate all material handling equipment.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic.
• Moderate to heavy physical lifting, up to 50lbs.
• Ability to stand, walk and move around for the entirety of the scheduled work shift.
• Familiarity with the Gentex inventory and warehouse control system.

Responsibilities

• Pick and deliver material to manufacturing using the Gentex system.
• Perform receiving and shipping using the Gentex system.
• Perform inventory transactions related to receipts, issues, put-aways, and shipments.
• Operate material handling equipment to load/unload trucks and put away/pick material.
• Perform area housekeeping.
• Make trips for supplies and pick-ups.
• Assist team members to meet team goals, including in production.
• Perform cycle counts and reconcile variances.
• Conduct physical inventories as scheduled.
• Monitor and improve inventory accuracy, transaction efficiency, safety, response time and shipping performance.
• Other duties as assigned.
