Job Summary

This job is in the Plant family (Department), responsible for supervising or performing metals processing and distribution work within the Reliance family of companies. Work includes specialized equipment operation and/or supporting functions, requiring practical knowledge of the operations, materials, facilities, and methods employed by Reliance companies in metals processing and distribution.

Job Responsibilities

• Complete basic, routine tasks with detailed instructions.
• Move inventory or equipment, fill customer orders, pull material from racks, unload incoming material, load trucks, and maintain the warehouse.
• Receive, place/return items into stock locations.
• Pull and assemble orders based on work/shipping orders or documentation.
• Tag material for identification and complete documentation.
• Move material using forklift, side loader, or crane.
• Operate yard truck for loading/unloading trailers.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area.
• Sort and place material on racks, shelves, or bins.
• Conduct inventory checks and ensure proper tagging.
• Report irregularities to supervisor.
• Restock material and occasionally drive non-DOT trucks for local deliveries.
• Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

Required Skills

• 0-5 years of relevant experience or equivalent education and experience.
• High School diploma/GED preferred.
• Valid Driver's License and ability to meet MVR criteria.
• Warehousing and material handling experience preferred.
• Ability to obtain certification to operate required equipment.
• Clear communication skills, manual dexterity, ability to read instructions, basic measurement and math skills, multi-tasking, decision-making, and relationship skills.
