Job summary

Viking Electric in La Crosse, WI is seeking a Warehouse Material Handler to move products from our warehouse to customers, load and unload trucks, and ensure accurate packing and routing.

You’ll be trained on equipment and processes in a safe, fast-paced environment, working a 9am start, Monday through Friday, with a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities to grow within the Sonepar group.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull objects weighing up to 50 lbs regularly, or up to 75 lbs with assistance.
• Ability to stand and walk for much of your shift.
• Basic math skills (add and subtract numbers).
• Willingness to learn how to operate forklift and handheld scanning device (training provided).
• Ability to work in various temperatures within the warehouse.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without VISA sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload trucks and move boxes/materials safely using equipment (forklift, pallet jack, handcart, reach trucks, etc.).
• Count, check and record items coming into or being shipped out of the warehouse.
• Use a handheld device to scan barcodes and labels to track inventory levels.
• Assemble, package, label, stack, palletize and route material for delivery or storage.
• Help keep products free from damage and organized.
• Follow procedures to keep the warehouse safe and secure.

Warehouse Material Handler

Location: La Crosse, WI

Job type: Full Time

Schedule: 9am start time, Monday - Friday

Hourly pay: $19.00/hr - $24.00/hr (pay increases in range based on warehouse experience brought to the role)

• Compensation for this position includes hourly pay, short-term incentive bonus, and full benefits package offerings. The exact amount of base salary may vary based on experience and skills brought to the role.

What You’ll Do

As a warehouse associate, you're key to driving a great customer experience by getting products from our warehouse to our customers. As orders come in, you help fill them accurately by finding the right products and getting them packaged and onto our trucks. You'll work in a positive, fast-paced environment with a supportive team.

You will…

• Load and unload trucks and move boxes/material in a safe manner using a forklift, pallet jack, handcart, reach trucks, or other device (no experience required - we provide training)
• Count, check and record items coming into or being shipped out of the warehouse
• Use a handheld device to scan barcodes and labels, allowing us to track appropriate inventory levels
• Assemble, package, label, stack, palletize and route material for safe delivery or storage
• Help us keep products free from damage and organized
• Follow and promote procedures that keep the warehouse safe and secure
