Job Title: Warehouse Manager

Location: Orangeburg, SC

Purpose and Summary Statement

The Warehouse Manager is responsible for managing personnel and inventory to ensure accurate, saleable products are delivered to customers and Seedway at the most reasonable cost. This role oversees warehouse operations, upholds safety and compliance standards, and ensures timely and efficient distribution processes.

Supervision and Leadership

  • Directly supervises and develops the Associate Warehouse Manager and warehouse staff.
  • Provides training, guidance, and performance management to team members.
  • Fosters a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence.

Essential Job Functions

  • Conducts regular inspections of all warehouse structures to ensure soundness, rodent/weather proofing, and overall appearance.
  • Performs and documents daily safety inspections of forklifts and other equipment.
  • Replaces worn equipment parts to maintain operational safety and efficiency.
  • Organizes, manages, and maintains warehouse inventory.
  • Ensures labeling and packaging comply with state seed laws and regulations.
  • Verifies shipping counts and lot numbers to support customer satisfaction and state audit requirements.
  • Maintains accurate documentation and records for all inventory and warehouse activities.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in agriculture, business, or a related field-or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in a warehouse or agricultural setting.
  • Strong understanding of inventory management, product handling, and warehouse operations.
  • Working knowledge of fertilizers, ag chemicals, seed, soil, and field monitoring preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record required; ability to travel independently.
  • Must obtain and maintain necessary certifications, licenses, and permits.
  • Willingness to work extended hours and be on-call as business needs dictate.
  • Familiarity with agronomy operations is preferred.
  • Occasional work at heights.
  • Must be able to lift 51-70 lbs.
