Position Summary:
The Warehouse Manager is responsible for coordinating and supervising all warehouse and logistic by directing assigned associates in the receiving, warehousing, and shipping of customer product in a manner consistent with service and cost objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate efficient loading/unloading of shipments, orderly stacking of product, and the picking and staging of outbound shipments in accordance with the highest possible levels of quality using FIFO standards.
- Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are scheduled, accurate and free of damage.
- Responsible for the cross communication between shifts
- Ensure the efficient and safe operation of all materials handling equipment.
- Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area; ensure all security policies and procedures are followed.
- Ensure associates follow all safety policies and procedures. Thoroughly investigate, report and document all safety accidents and violations in a timely manner
- Ensure proper food safety practices are maintained.
- Plan work schedules and assign duties to maintain adequate staff for effective performance of activities and response to fluctuating workloads.
- Direct the operations of the assigned work team to achieve prescribed objectives.
- Conduct shift meetings
- Collaborate with workers and managers to solve work-related problems.
- Evaluate employee performance and prepare performance appraisals.
- Counsel employees in work-related activities, personal growth, or career development
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Working knowledge of warehouse operations in a manufacturing setting
- Ability to plan warehouse layout with highest space and operational efficiency in mind.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task
- Excellent team building skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to interact in a positive way with all internal team members as well as external vendors and clients.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and at least one WMS system
Preferred Qualifications
- 3-5 years management experience
- Bachelor’s Degree with concentration in Logistics or Supply Chain preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Must have the ability to frequently lift or carry up to 50 lbs. and occasionally lift or carry 51-100+ lbs.
- Must have the ability to frequently push or pull up to 50 lbs. and occasionally push or pull 51-100 lbs.
- Must be able to use an electronic device to input daily communications.
- Must be able to constantly walk and stand for the duration of the work shift.
- Must be able to frequently use fine motor manipulations, grip, squat, kneel, bend, twist, turn, reach outward, and reach above chest.
- Must be able to occasionally crawl and climb as needed.
