Job summary

I.Rice & Company in Pennsylvania is seeking a Warehouse Manager to oversee all warehouse operations governing receipt, storage, and inventory control of raw materials and packaging components used in the plant. The role ensures uninterrupted production through accurate inventory management and compliance with food safety regulations.

Ideal candidates have strong leadership, substantial warehouse management experience in a food manufacturing setting, and thorough knowledge of GMPs, SQF

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of warehouse management experience in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory or management experience.
  • Experience with SQF, BRC, or GFSI-certified facilities preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory control and FIFO/FEFO practices.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily warehouse operations for raw materials and packaging supplies.
  • Ensure timely receiving, inspection, storage, staging, and issuance of materials to production.
  • Develop and maintain procedures to maximize efficiency and accuracy.
  • Optimize warehouse layout for product flow and space utilization.
  • Coordinate material availability to support production schedules.
  • Lead, coach, train, and develop warehouse personnel.
  • Foster safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with safety policies and housekeeping.

Job description

The Warehouse Manager oversees all warehouse operations related to the receipt, storage, and inventory control of raw materials and packaging components used at the plant. This position is responsible for ensuring uninterrupted production through accurate inventory management, compliance with food safety regulations, and efficient warehouse operations. The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, warehouse management experience within a food manufacturing environment, and a thorough understanding of GMPs, SQF requirements, and inventory control systems.

Warehouse Operations
  • Manage all daily warehouse operations involving raw materials and packaging supplies.
  • Ensure timely receiving, inspection, storage, staging, and issuance of materials to production.
  • Develop and maintain warehouse procedures that maximize efficiency and accuracy.
  • Optimize warehouse layout for product flow, space utilization, and operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate material availability to support production schedules.
Inventory Management
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts and physical inventories.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies promptly.
  • Ensure FIFO/FEFO inventory rotation is consistently followed.
  • Work closely with Procurement to maintain appropriate inventory levels.
Food Safety & Quality
  • Ensure compliance with SQF, FDA, GMP, HACCP, and company food safety requirements.
  • Maintain warehouse conditions that protect product integrity and prevent contamination.
  • Ensure allergen segregation and proper storage practices are consistently followed.
Leadership & Team Management
  • Lead, coach, train, and develop warehouse personnel.
  • Foster a culture focused on safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with company safety policies.
  • Ensure proper housekeeping throughout the warehouse.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 5 years of warehouse management experience in food manufacturing.
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory or management experience.
  • Experience working in SQF, BRC, or GFSI-certified facilities preferred.
