Job summary

Responsibilities

This role will serve as the primary resource for daily supply chain execution by working directly with the warehouse and transportation teams, supporting PepsiCo Food and Beverage Distribution Centers (DC) in Tracy and Stockton, CA

Leadership & Oversight
  • Direct and develop Inventory Control Specialists (ICS).
  • Provide training and coaching for IC and Scheduler teams to ensure operational excellence.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for all inventory-related inquiries and initiatives.
  • Ensure full cross-training across roles to maintain operational continuity.
Inventory Governance & Compliance
  • Act as Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Control Owner for inventory, inbound trailer, and cycle count controls.
  • Ensure strict adherence to WMS/SOX policies and procedures.
  • Train and develop sub-control owners to uphold compliance standards.
  • Monitor execution of supporting controls to mitigate financial risk.
  • Validate inbound product accuracy per Stock in Transit Control reports.
  • Maintain and audit inventory-related SOPs and Self-Assessment Guides in alignment with PepsiCo policies.
Operational Performance & KPI Management
  • Drive performance to exceed key metrics:
  • Fill Rate ≥ 98.5%
  • In-House Cuts
  • Absolute Inventory Accuracy ≥ 98%
  • Net Inventory Accuracy ≥ 99.5%
  • Freshness ≥ 99.2% across all business units
  • Ensure timely resolution of production and warehouse variances
  • Lead 3PL teams to 100% compliance with all Inventory and WMS SOPs.
  • Manage Service Center KPIs including WOWO, returns, non-conforming inventory, AIB, and SOX compliance.
  • All Carrier Claims processed within 24/hours with forecasting analysis provided to DCM
  • Champion adherence to AOP inventory and waste reduction goals by implementing proactive monitoring systems and continuous process improvements that minimize inefficiencies and maximize resource utilization.
Cycle Counting & Variance Resolution
  • Ensure 100% on-time execution of cycle counts per SOP.
  • Partner with the National Inventory Team Analyst to resolve site-impacting variances.
  • Record and report all inventory variances and system‑related discrepancies.
System & Process Management
  • Oversee inventory transactions and controls within SAP and WMS, ensuring near real‑time accuracy.
  • Manage material activation/deactivation in SAP and WMS, including timely downloads and updates.
  • Ensure daily reconciliation between WMS and E80 systems with 100% alignment.
  • Lead WMS baseline documentation and audit readiness activities.
Freshness, Quality & Reverse Logistics
  • Enforce freshness guidelines and oversee third‑party compliance and documentation.
  • Monitor aging inventory and coordinate with Secondary Market to minimize revenue loss.
  • Oversee Quality Hold procedures to ensure 100% traceability through final disposition.
  • Manage product donations and disposals in compliance with corporate guidelines.
  • Lead reconciliation of lost product with 3PL and ensure returns are processed within 48 hours.
Strategic Planning & Continuous Improvement
  • Integral part of 1NA building strategy in regard to inventory balancing and movement.
  • Analyze Service Center trends to identify opportunities for process optimization.
  • Review and revise warehouse layout and space utilization to maximize efficiency.
  • Provide leadership in resolving replenishment and fulfillment issues with plants and customer service.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Support external travel and site visits as needed.
  • Execute all other duties assigned by site management.
Compensation and Benefits
  • The expected compensation range for this position is between $88,200 - $147,650.

  • Bonus based on performance and eligibility target payout is 10% of annual salary paid out annually.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field preferred
  • 3–4 years of progressive experience in inventory control, logistics operations, or related supply chain functions
  • Proven management or supervisory experience with a track record of team leadership
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in cross‑functional team environments
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage across all levels of the organization
  • Advanced analytical capabilities, including root cause analysis and problem resolution
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, with working knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems—preferably JDA DLX—and SAP
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively identify and resolve inventory-related challenges
  • Deep understanding of broader Service Center strategies and financial implications, with comprehensive knowledge of inventory operations
