Job summary

Christie Lites in Nashville seeks an experienced Warehouse Supervisor to maximize daily operational efficiency through leadership, guidance and training.

The role oversees order picking, inventory accuracy, staff performance, safety compliance, and after-hours support for Rental Reps, with a focus on timely delivery and continuous process improvement in a fast-paced live production environment.

• Recommends internal promotions or new hires to Department Head.
• Ensures safety policies are followed and OSHA standards met.
• Coordinates after-hours support for Rental Reps and emergency access.
• Maintains warehouse cleanliness and equipment readiness.

Job Purpose

To maximize daily operational efficiency through leadership, guidance and training.

Responsibilities

• Supervises the pick, pull, prep, and return of orders by:


• Ensuring an appropriate amount of labor is available to execute orders


• Ensuring all orders are completed by the date shown in Nexus


• Answering questions from warehouse staff about order and inventory discrepancies


• Alerting COD about Nexus inventory discrepancies


• Optimizing and using all available staging space in the warehouse by using isles, trailers, or outside spaces to maximize efficiency


• Supervises warehouse staff by:


• Supplying guidance and feedback to employees when needed in the form of verbal and written counselling


• Performing annual reviews of warehouse staff with ROD


• Performing quarterly check-in performance evaluations on each department. Bottom performers in each department are to be given guidance on what they need to improve


• Making recommendations to ROD for internal promotions or new hires to the Department Head. Positions of the Department Head and above require ROD level approval


• Ensuring staff follow Christie Lites safety policies


• Meeting weekly with Department Heads to inform them of changes and upcoming order challenges, and to receive feedback on how their team is performing and any staffing challenges that may be occurring


• Making proper use of temporary labor services. Avoid using labor services as a \"permanent\" fix for staff shortages


• Hiring and/or termination of warehouse staff


• Performing final interviews for potential new shop staff


• Ensuring staff are properly trained to perform the functions asked of them


• Supports efficient warehouse processes by:


• Keeping the warehouse clean and organized


• Ensuring the warehouse has proper hardware, storage systems, tools, and machinery


• Making updates to inventory as needed


• Ensuring the Joint Health and Safety Committee meets and performs its regular inspections


• Maintaining, organizing, and returning, as necessary other people's equipment from show returns


• Acting as a local point of contact for service providers such as HVAC maintenance, plumbers, electricians, etc


• Offers after-hours support for Rental Reps by:


• Being available to deal with show critical issues on an after-hours basis


• Ensuring warehouse is available to be opened 24/7 in case of an emergency


• Manages employee shift and workload to enable flexibility


• Maintains barcode installation integrity by:


• Managing the installation of barcodes and RFID stickers on new products


• Performing barcode swaps as necessary


• Managing barcode sticker inventory


• Manages building security and theft prevention by:


• Ensuring the building is locked, and the alarm is armed when the building is not occupied


• Controlling access to buildings during on and off hours


• Oversees compliance with OSHA and fire codes/inspections by:


• Maintaining records and scheduling fire and sprinkler system inspections


• Ensuring the warehouse adheres to OSHA standards


• Oversees prep space by:


• Delivering a positive experience to incoming crews


• Helping prep crews resolve issues around prep

Requirements

• Previous experience in live production, A/V, touring, lighting, or a related industry


• Experience working with live events, production equipment, touring operations.


• Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
