The Warehouse Manager is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of warehousing and shipping/receiving functions for all USMMC Operations. Primary responsibilities include leading and managing warehouse teams in shipping/receiving, material storage, transportation to/from customers and suppliers, material supply for production, cost management and reduction, risk management, and continuous improvement. The manager oversees all warehouse facilities.
Responsibilities :
- Provide effective leadership, supervision, motivation, and development of warehouse employees to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations.
- Review, monitor, and control all warehouse costs and expenses, select service providers, and oversee service quality and costs; initiate cost reduction programs.
- Design, test, implement, and maintain the Warehouse Management System (WMS), resolve system issues, and continuously improve system functionality.
- Create and maintain warehouse SOPs, work instructions, and other processes; adapt to operational changes and improve efficiency.
- Set KPIs, utilize activities to make KPIs effective tools for risk management and continuous improvement.
- Lead warehouse ISO activities to ensure compliance.
- Manage a team of warehouse supervisors, shippers/receivers, material handlers, and clerks responsible for raw materials, finished goods, and other items' shipping, receiving, transfer, and storage.
- Ensure warehouse operations meet storage and transportation standards and regulations.
- Maintain high inventory accuracy, conduct inventory counts in compliance with standards, prepare reports, and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure warehouse safety by working closely with EHS and other departments to develop and maintain safety programs, promoting safety awareness.
- Ensure all activities comply with the Canadian Solar Code of Business Conduct and adhere to environmental, health, and safety policies.
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications and Experience :
- 5+ years of experience in warehouse management, preferably in a high-volume environment.
- Logistics experience in local, national, and international shipping.
- Post-secondary education (diploma or degree) in a related field.
- Proficient in MS Office; experience with SAP or similar ERP systems.
- Strong knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Inventory Management.
- Self-motivated, proactive, able to work under pressure.
- Effective communication skills across organizational levels.
- Well-organized, energetic, and a team player.
- Flexibility in working hours is mandatory.
- Forklift certification is an asset.
