Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is seeking a warehouse supervisor to plan, organize, and direct shop activities to meet company profit and expense goals.

Responsibilities include inventory control, forklift operations, shipping/receiving, tool maintenance, and supervising staff to ensure safe, efficient operations. Strong leadership and warehouse experience are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Any vocational training is strongly desired.
• A minimum of 2-3 years’ experience working as a manager, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Receive freight, operate forklift, and stock the warehouse.
• Conduct inventory counts and maintain inventory stock levels.
• Check in orders and stock all inventory items.
• Maintain adequate shipping supplies.
• Perform all shipping.
• Keep shop organized and clean.
• Maintain, clean, and organize all shop tools.
• Check specialty tools in and out.
• Maintain extinguishers and system cylinders in shop.
• Record and document all inspections, repairs, discrepancies, and recommendations.
• Maintain a good positive relationship with the customer and pass on information for follow up, quotes, questions, or concerns.
• Train and manage subordinates in job level requirements.
• Maintain equipment and tools necessary to safely perform job.
• Perform other duties assigned by management.

This position is responsible for planning, organizing, staffing, directing and controlling the shop activities and inventory. The express purpose of this position will be to supervise and take part in the shop in such manner to meet the profit and expense goals of Company.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• General warehouse operations.
• Receiving freight, operating a forklift, and stocking the warehouse
• Perform all inventory counts and maintain inventory stock levels.
• Check in orders and stock all inventory items.
• Maintain adequate shipping supplies.
• Perform all shipping.
• Keep shop organized and clean.
• Maintain, clean, and organize all shop tools.
• Check specialty tools in and out.
• Maintaining extinguishers and system cylinders in various locations in shop.
• Record and document all inspections, repairs, discrepancies, and recommendations either electronically or manually.
• Maintain a good positive relationship with the customer and pass on information to the appropriate personnel for follow up, quotes, questions, or concerns.
• Train and manage subordinates in job level requirements.
• Maintain equipment and tools necessary to safely perform job.
• Perform other duties assigned by management.

Education/Qualification:

Other Duties:

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Frequent lifting and carrying of toolboxes, equipment, parts, tools, equipment, cabling, and/or wiring.
• Frequent ladder climbing and checking, pulling wire, etc.
• Walking, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, and raising hands overhead.

Pay Rate:

$55,000 to $65,000 based on experience.
